Graduated from West High School (Texas) where he was a member of back-to-back 3A Texas State Championships. Was 13-0 with a 1.34 ERA and 120 strikeouts as a junior and 13-3 with a 1.30 ERA as a senior. Two-time Texas Sports Writers Association 3A Player of the Year and Tournament MVP...Played college baseball at Auburn, where he helped the Tigers to the 2019 College World Series. Was 3-0 entering the postseason and earned a win at Georgia Tech in the Atlanta Regional. Took losses vs. North Carolina in the Auburn Super Regional and vs. Louisville in Omaha...Was teammates with Cardinals Minor League INF Brody Moore at Auburn...Named to the 2019 Atlanta Regional All-Tournament team...Transfered from McLennan (Texas) Community College to Auburn after his freshman year going 7-0 with a 3.86 ERA...Resides in Waco, Texas with his wife, Mallory, and son, Briggs.

2024

Began the season with the Chicago Cubs organization before a trade sent him to the White Sox (2/27) and was subsequently purchased by the Boston Red Sox (4/30) where he made his Major League debut...Made his Major League debut vs. SD (6/29) and struck out Bryce Johnson for his first MLB strikeout...Earned his first MLB win vs. NYY (7/26) tossing a scoreless eighth inning as the Red Sox rallied for three runs in the bottom of the 8th inning for a 9-7 win...Ran off three straight scoreless starts 7/2-21, for his longest scoreless streak (5.2 IP) of the season...Had a 3.94 ERA in his 16 appearances vs. all other MLB teams, but a 27.00 ERA (6 ER/2.0 IP) against the Rockies at Coors Field...Hurled a season-high 2.2 innings pitched in his MLB debut vs. SD (6/29) and again in a scoreless outing at NYY (7/5)...Posted a reverse split, holding right-handed batters to a .242 BA (8-33) without a home run and .333 BA (14-42) with five home runs vs. left-handers.

2023

Combined to go 7-3 with a 4.21 ERA (29 ER/62.0 IP), .226 (55-226) opponents average and 78 strikeouts (11.3 per 9.0 IP) over 45 appearances between Class AA Tennessee and Class AAA Iowa in the Cubs organization...Held left-handers to a .156 (12-77) average...Made six appearances with the Smokies before being promoted to Iowa on 4/29...Went 4-1 with a 2.25 ERA (3 ER/12.0 IP), .171 (7-41) opponents average and 13 strikeouts in his first 11 games with Iowa...Posted a 2.38 ERA (3 ER/11.1 IP) over nine games in July.

2022

Bailey reached the Double-A level for the first time in 2022, going a combined 1-3 with a 2.79 ERA (16 ER/51.2 IP) with four saves and 74 strikeouts in 33 relief appearances with High-A South Bend and Double-A Tennessee... Began the season with South Bend, where he did not allow a run in 10.0 IP (five games) prior to his May 23 promotion to Tennessee... Finished second among Smokies relievers with 58 strikeouts in 41.2 IP and four saves in 28 games in relief... Combined between South Bend and Tennessee, held left-handed hitters to a .217 average (15-for-69)... Concluded the season by tossing 9.2-straight scoreless innings over his last six outings and owned a 0.50 ERA (1 ER/18.0 IP) in his last 11 games... Pitched for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League following the season, posting a 1.50 ERA (2 ER/12.0 IP) and one save in eight relief outings... Was named to the AFL Rising Stars team.
