Steven Cade Cavalli...Graduated from Bixby High School in Bixby, Okla...Attended the University of Oklahoma...Went 1-2 with a 4.18 ERA (11 ER/23.2 IP) and 37 strikeouts against just five walks in four starts for the Sooners prior to the cancellation of the 2020 season...Was named to the 2020 Golden Spikes Award (top amateur player) preseason watch list...As a sophomore in 2019, earned a selection to the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team, as well as First Team All-Big 12 honors as a utility player...Was a member of the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.

2024

Spent the season rehabbing from 2023 Tommy John surgery...Appeared in three rehab outings with the FCL Nationals and Single-A Wilmington.

2023

Underwent Tommy John surgery in Spring Training...Returned to throwing/playing catch by the end of the 2023 season.

2022

Was named Washington’s Minor League Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive season...Made his Major League debut on Aug. 26 vs. Cincinnati...Struck out Kyle Farmer for his first MLB strikeout...He allowed just three home runs, and his 0.28 home runs allowed per 9.0 innings ranked eighth among Minor League pitchers (min. 75.0 IP)... Ranked eighth in Washington’s system with 104 strikeouts...From May 22 to July 27, went 3-0 with a 1.89 ERA (10 ER/47.2 IP) and a .179 opponents average in nine starts... Was selected to represent the Nationals in the 2022 Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game, but did not participate.

2021

In his first full professional season, Cavalli led all of Minor League Baseball with 175 strikeouts, while his 3.36 ERA paced all full-season Nationals Minor Leaguers...He allowed just five home runs, and his 0.36 home runs allowed per 9.0 innings led all of Minor League Baseball (full-season)...Led full-season Nationals Minor Leaguers with a .213 opponents’ batting average while his 1.26 walk and hits per innings pitched ranked third...Went 7-9 with a 3.36 ERA, 175 strikeouts and 60 walks in 123.1 innings across 24 starts between three levels of Washington’s system...He opened the season with High-A Wilmington where he went 3-1 with a 1.77 ERA in seven starts...Following the season, Baseball America named him the top prospect in High-A...Was promoted to Double-A Harrisburg on June 15 and he would eventually make 11 starts – going 3-3 with a 2.79 ERA – before joining Triple-A Rochester on Aug. 24...Was selected to represent the Washington Nationals in the 2021 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game in addition to earning High-A East (June 13) and Double-A Northeast (Aug. 1) Pitcher of the Week honors.

Was a member of the 60-Player Pool...Spent the entire season at the Alternate Training Site (Fredericksburg)…Participated in Instructional League following the season.
