PLAY BALL Weekend
The Marlins are excited to join Major League Baseball to celebrate youth baseball and softball during PLAY BALL Weekend.
PLAY BALL Weekend will take place June 9-11, 2023, with activities taking place all weekend encouraging young people to play ball and highlighting the Marlins youth baseball and softball programs.

Location: Babcock Park – Field 4, 651 E 4th Ave, Hialeah, FL
Overview: The PLAY BALL initiative is baseball's collective effort to encourage young people and communities to engage in baseball or softball related activities. PLAY BALL events demonstrate the positive way the game can serve as an outlet for physical activity, fun with friends and learning how to play the sport at its most basic levels. A Marlins RBI game will be given “The Show” treatment! Live DJ, Bilingual PA announcer, In-game host, Billy the Marlin, Marlins Mermaids will be on-site to deliver an in-game entertainment “takeover” at Babcock Park.

Overview: Cheer on our RBI teams during their regular season. They will be playing at multiple fields throughout Miami and Broward.

Location: Lummus Park, 6 Street and Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, FL
Overview: The PLAY BALL initiative is baseball’s collective effort to encourage young people and communities to engage in baseball or softball related activities. PLAY BALL events demonstrate the positive way the game can serve as an outlet for physical activity, fun with friends and learning how to play the sport at its most basic levels. The Marlins and City of Miami Beach will partner up on this activation at the recently christened Sandy’s Beach. The event will feature a mini-HR Derby on a "Sandlot" Field along with several instructional skills stations. The stations will include hitting, pitching, and agilities, providing an overall introduction to the fundamentals of baseball and softball. Guests will also be able to enjoy music, food kiosks from the adjacent Farmer’s Market and additional play activities on the beach!
Each participant at the event will receive a Play Ball bat and ball set.

Overview: The PLAY BALL initiative is baseball’s collective effort to encourage young people and communities to engage in baseball or softball related activities. PLAY BALL events demonstrate the positive way the game can serve as an outlet for physical activity, fun with friends and learning how to play the sport at its most basic levels. The West Pembroke Pines Optimist is hosting a MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for local players. Pitch Hit & Run is a free competition for boys and girls 7-14 years old and consists of a series of movements that are important in baseball and softball. Each participant at the event will receive a bat and ball set.
