Miami Marlins MLB Youth Academy
Major League Values Make Major League Citizens — Preparing Youth to Succeed on the Field, Off the Field, and Beyond
The Miami Marlins Youth Academy was officially born in the spring of 2023 with the mission of providing high-quality, accessible baseball and Softball programming rooted in character development. In its first season, the Academy served Coach Pitch with up to 40 athletes, T-Ball with 12 athletes, and a small but impactful Softball program of four athletes. From the beginning, the focus extended beyond the field, using sport as a tool to build confidence, discipline, and opportunity for every participant.
Since then, the Academy has grown into a 12-team program that includes T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Kid Pitch, Softball, a 15U Junior RBI Baseball team, and a 18U Softball team. By offering programming at free to little or no cost, the Miami Marlins Youth Academy removes financial barriers and ensures youth from all backgrounds have access to organized sports and meaningful mentorship. The Academy’s curriculum is guided by Jackie Robinson’s Nine Values, reinforcing integrity, teamwork, perseverance, and citizenship in every practice and game. In addition to athletic development, the Academy provides academic and career-focused opportunities for rising seniors, supporting their transition beyond high school.
The Miami Marlins Youth Academy is committed to building more than athletes — it is dedicated to building Major League citizens. Through baseball, Softball, education, and mentorship, the Academy prepares young people to succeed on the field, in the classroom, and in their communities.

Miami Marlins Youth Academy 5-12 Programming

The Miami Marlins Youth Academy 5-12 programming options include four weeks of pre-season training followed by eight weeks of structured game play and practices. Practices range from focusing on baseball/softball fundamentals and agility exercises, to live-play simulations, all with the goal of increasing skill development and confidence in the sport. Each practice includes one of over 50 instructional lessons focusing on the core skills of baseball and softball. The Miami Marlins Youth Academy provides practice shirts, hats, and gameday attire for athletes participating in each season.
Every athlete’s time on the field also includes learning about Jackie Robinson's nine values, which fosters positive character development both on and off the field.
Through the Miami Marlins MLB Youth Academy Nike Jr. RBI Season, and the Miami Marlins MLB Youth Academy Fall Rookies Season, the Miami Marlins provide young athletes the opportunity to be developed into major league citizens. By reinforcing the fundamentals of baseball/softball, encouraging academic achievement, and instilling social responsibility, athletes are provided all the tools necessary to be outstanding citizens both on and off the diamond.
