The Minor Leagues have never been so fast and powerful in tandem.
There were 59 total Minor Leaguers with at least 20 homers and 20 stolen bases during the 2026 season. Not only is that a serious increase from 16 in 2025, it also is just one fewer than the total of 60 between the 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons combined. Before rules changes affecting stolen bases were implemented in 2021 coming off the lost pandemic season, there were 60 total 20-20 MiLB performances during the entire decade of the 2010s.

Those rules changes have allowed players to get more aggressive on the basepaths at the lower levels, but this specific rise had more to do with a surge on the homer side of the 20/20 scale. Full-season Minor League games averaged 2.17 homers in 2026, up from 1.58 in 2025. That’s an increase of 37.3 percent between the two years. The uptick was even more stark at the Double-A, High-A and Single-A levels; across those three, homers per game went up from 1.34 per game on average in 2025 to 2.14 in ‘26, an increase of 59.7 percent. Triple-A stayed relatively stagnant moving from 2.21 last year to 2.26 this campaign.
Even against that backdrop, there were plenty of notable individual seasons in this year’s 20/20 club.
There were two 30/30 seasons compiled by Royals No. 17 prospect Carson Roccaforte (35 HR, 32 SB) and Astros No. 6 prospect Jason Schiavone (32 HR, 32 SB). Schiavone -- who enjoyed a breakout season at High-A, Double-A and Triple-A -- is the first catcher to go 30/30 in a Minor League season since Willie Royster did so in 1981. This marks the third time since 2019 that multiple players have picked up 30 homers and 30 steals in a MiLB season. Before then, there hadn’t been a year with multiple 30/30 players since that same 1981, when Brad Komminsk joined Royster in the club.
This also marked the first time since 1979 that three teenagers enjoyed 20/20 seasons in the Minors, and those three youngsters were Yankees No. 13 prospect Wilberson De Pena (20 HR, 25 SB), Brewers No. 6 prospect Braylon Payne (28 HR, 25 SB) and Orioles No. 9 prospect Enddy Azocar (21 HR, 20 SB). Since our records begin in 1946, there have been only three younger Minor Leaguers than Payne, who turned 20 on Aug. 14, who have enjoyed 25/25 seasons in the Minors: Adrian Beltré (1997), Andruw Jones (1995) and Jose Cardenal (1961).
Dodgers outfielder Chris Newell deserves special mention after achieving his third straight 20/20 season, with 25 homers and 25 steals between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City this summer. He’s one of only four Minor Leaguers to make the list in three consecutive years, joining Carson Williams 2023-25), Kyle Tucker (2017-19) and Greg Vaughn (1987-89).
There are six Top 100 prospects in this year’s 20/20 club: No. 6 Josue De Paula (27 HR, 31 SB), No. 12 Theo Gillen (22 HR, 44 SB), No. 26 Zyhir Hope (29 HR, 26 SB), No. 39 Eric Hartman (26 HR, 56 SB), No. 56 Joshua Báez (34 HR, 21 SB) and No. 73 Jefferson Rojas (27 HR, 21 SB). Hartman became the Minors’ first 25/50 performer since the Hall of Famer Jones reached those marks 31 years ago.
The Yankees lead the way with five 20/20 players in their farm system this season, followed up by the Dodgers and Rays with four each. Tampa Bay can lay claim to a fifth in Brayden Taylor, though he officially completed the task following his Deadline trade to the Marlins.
