Minor League Baseball announced the winners of the 2026 Golden Bobblehead Awards for top promotional activities and events in five categories.

BEST PROMOTION OR EVENT – Albuquerque Isotopes, Native American Heritage Night

The Albuquerque Isotopes’ Native American Heritage Night celebrated the rich cultures, traditions and enduring contributions of New Mexico Indigenous communities while bringing fans together for an evening of recognition, education and celebration.

The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center was the marquee sponsor of the game providing an exclusive hat giveaway and post-game fireworks set to a playlist of Native American music. The center worked tirelessly with the Isotopes staff to provide an authentic and inclusive evening. A local Native American artist designed the giveaway cap. The replica Isotopes jersey featuring the number 23 (the number of federally recognized Native American tribes and nations in New Mexico) helped set a single-game merchandise sales record for the club.

The Isotopes wore the special jerseys on Native American Heritage Night and auctioned them off after the game, raising nearly $25,000 for the Bob Chavez Scholarship for the Arts, which provides assistance to students following a path towards the visual arts. A crowd of 9,676 enjoyed Native American Heritage Night, and the club’s social posts from the night received nearly 1 million impressions and 50,000 engagements.

BEST NON-GAMEDAY/COMMUNITY EVENT – Arkansas Travelers, Pitch, Putt and Paws

On Aug. 16, the Arkansas Travelers Youth Foundation (ATYF) hosted its first Pitch, Putt & Paws at Dickey-Stephens Park. The event was designed to break down barriers and provide an all-inclusive, fully adaptive sports environment for children with physical, developmental, and sensory differences. The participants played baseball, softball and golf alongside certified therapy dogs and support groups. By pairing accessible sports drills with dedicated therapy and service animals, the Travs created a transformative space where every child could step up to the plate, swing a bat or a club, and feel like a professional athlete in a professional atmosphere.

In total, 41 children facing various challenges participated directly on the field with tailored, adaptive support, with assistance from seven prominent organizations in Central Arkansas across health, athletics and advocacy programs. Traditional sports clinics that can often feel overwhelming or exclusionary for neurodivergent youth and children with mobility limitations. But Pitch, Putt & Paws eliminated those hurdles by meeting each child where they were.

All families surveyed after the event said they were eager to return next season, creating a foundation for Pitch, Putt & Paws to become an annual tradition at Dickey-Stephens Park. Pitch, Putt & Paws was an unequivocal success uniting partners, empowering youth through movement and ensuring sports are accessible to everyone.

BEST TICKET SALES CAMPAIGN – West Michigan Whitecaps, 6-7 Day Flash Sale

On Jan. 30,  exactly 67 days before Opening Day, the Whitecaps capitalized on a nationwide phenomenon, taking the numbers 6 and 7 and turning those numbers into a valuable promotion. For 24 hours only, fans could purchase $6.70 tickets to the June 7 game.

The short sales window, coupled with a simple concept, made the offer too good to pass up. The response was significant. The Whitecaps sold 1,595 individual tickets during a single day in January for a game more than four months away. Those tickets were bought by 423 unique purchasers, including 159 new purchasers. Nearly 38 percent of purchasers were new customers, demonstrating that the campaign was not simply rewarding existing fans -- it was acquiring new customers.

The campaign's impact extended well beyond the initial purchase as 30 percent of 6-7 purchasers attended at least one additional Whitecaps game during the 2026 season, while 14 percent attended at least two additional games. This demonstrated the campaign's ability to turn a low-cost introductory purchase into repeat attendance and longer-term fan engagement.

The promotion also reached fans across West Michigan and beyond, with 6-7 purchasers representing 79 unique ZIP codes. The game drew 8,867 fans, eclipsing the club's average Sunday attendance (5,980) by nearly 48 percent.

The 6-7 Flash Sale demonstrates how a simple, creative ticket promotion can do more than generate a one-day sales spike. It can acquire new customers, drive advance sales demand, create repeat attendance and ultimately help build one of the most successful games of the season.

BEST LOCAL PARTNER ACTIVATION – Rocket City Trash Pandas, Global Baseball Series

The Rocket City Trash Pandas took their naming rights partnership to a new level in 2026 with the Global Baseball Series at Toyota Field.

The Trash Pandas hosted Toyota’s Japanese Industrial League team, the Toyota Red Cruisers, for a three-day series of exhibition games that also included games against Alabama A&M University and the University of Alabama-Huntsville.

On April 1, the Trash Padas took on the Red Cruisers in front of the largest Wednesday crowd at Toyota Field since 2024. There were more than 2,000 employees from the nearby Toyota manufacturing plant in attendance at the game.

The event, which featured Japanese food at concessions stands and a Japanese baseball-like atmosphere with music, chanting and singing throughout the game, was a huge success and helped the club strengthen bonds with Toyota Alabama, one of the largest manufacturers and employers in the area.

To commemorate the series, the club planted cherry blossom trees outside of Toyota Field, unveiled a plaque to commemorate the inaugural series and made a donation to the local Japanese Garden Foundation.

BEST NEW MERCHANDISE PROMOTION – Palm Beach Cardinals, Palm Beach Frozen Iguanas Identity

When cold fronts sweep through Florida, no species feel it more than the iguana. The harmless little creatures have little protection from the elements and become frozen stiff. Sometimes they'll even fall out of trees. While the phenomenon of the “frozen iguana” has been around for ages, the Palm Beach Cardinals brought it to life in 2026 with their Frozen Iguanas alternate identity.

The club swapped the Cardinals’ red and navy for the icy blue and reptilian green colors to create a logo that was an instant hit. The collection launched on January 3rd and sold out in less than 48 hours. By the time Spring Training rolled around, the identity had generated over $100,000 in revenue, with sales to all 50 states and six international countries. By the time the season ended, the club had sold nearly 10,000 Frozen Iguanas items, creating a 354 percent increase in in-stadium merchandise sales over the previous season and an incredible 769 percent increase in online sales over 2025.

While the look was certainly popular across the U.S. and beyond, the brand took off locally, as fans developed a sense of community pride through the identity, with the logo becoming more than just a baseball team logo, but an apparel collection fans want to wear everywhere.
