The Athletics are adding a veteran arm to their organization.
Left-hander Dallas Keuchel and the A’s are in agreement on a Minor League contract, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Passan. The club has not confirmed the report.
Keuchel, 38, last pitched in MLB in 2024 with the Brewers. He made seven starts with the Royals’ Triple-A affiliate in 2025.
Keuchel is best known for his work with the Astros (2012-18), winning the 2015 AL Cy Young Award with a 2.48 ERA and a 20-8 record. He was an All-Star that season and a second time in 2017.

After departing Houston in free agency, Keuchel pitched for the Braves, White Sox, Diamondbacks, Rangers, Twins and Brewers. He also spent part of 2024 with Japan’s Chiba Lotte Marines, as well as in Triple-A with the Mariners.
Keuchel owns a career 4.04 ERA across 13 MLB seasons. The 2009 seventh-round Draft pick joins an Athletics organization that entered Saturday at 29th in ERA (5.34).
The A’s have also placed three pitchers -- starter J.T. Ginn and relievers Mark Leiter Jr. and Justin Sterner -- on the IL in the past week. They joined Opening Day starter Luis Severino, who is on the 60-day IL with a right shoulder strain.
