The Mariners’ farm, tied for the MLB lead with seven Top 100 prospects, is seeing standout performances left and right. Lazaro Montes is just one of the latest.

Montes hit two home runs on Thursday, his 10th and 11th long balls of a scorching hot June. He had four hits and six RBIs in total for Double-A Arkansas to power a 12-7 win over San Antonio at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Montes -- the Mariners’ No. 4 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 27 overall -- doubled in the first inning, scoring a run. He then homered in the second on an opposite-field liner that carried out of the stadium.

The hulking, lefty-hitting outfielder then added an RBI single in the sixth. He capped the big-time performance with an eighth-inning bomb, another opposite-field shot to display his 65-grade power.

This marked the first four-hit game for Montes since Aug. 30, 2024, while it was also his third multi-homer game of the 2026 season. The 21-year-old out of Cuba is now tied for fourth in the Minor Leagues with 23 homers on the year, aiding his strong .898 OPS.

In a big offensive day overall for the Arkansas, fellow Top 100 prospect Michael Arroyo (SEA No. 5, MLB No. 43) got the party started with a home run on the very first pitch he saw, his eighth of the year. Arroyo also smacked his first triple of the season.
