Welcome to Promo Preview, a monthly round-up of the best promotions taking place throughout Minor League Baseball. July highlights includes television luminaries, broadcasting boundary breakers and a smorgasbord of creamy foodstuffs.
Seinfeld Night with Cosmo Kramer bobblehead
Brooklyn Cyclones (High-A NYM), Aug. 1
For the second year in a row, the Cyclones' celebrated "Seinfeld" salute is highlighted by a Cosmo Kramer bobblehead. Last year's version featured Kramer in a famous oil painting that transcended time and space. The 2026 iteration depicts the quintessential NYC eccentric as he bursts through the door to Jerry's apartment. A pair of suboptimal Elaine boyfriends -- "Bad Breaker Upper" Tom Gallop and "Tony: The Mimbo" Dan Cortese -- will be in attendance and big spenders can opt for a package that includes bobbleheads of them as well. No matter what you do, stick around for the postgame Elaine dance contest.
Jimothy Night
Rocket City Trash Pandas (Double-A LAA), Aug. 4
The Rocket City Trash Pandas, based outside of Huntsville, Ala., derived their team name from a slang term for a raccoon. It's only right and natural that they are now paying tribute to a Seattle-area raccoon folk hero whose mere existence has captivated a nation. Jimothy Night will feature a pregame raccoon parade (for those in costume), concession items served out of trash cans and a Jimothy mask giveaway.
Bowling Green White Squirrels
Bowling Green Hot Rods (High-A TB), Aug. 8
In the wake of a black squirrel wreaking havoc at Detroit's Comerica Park, let this serve as a reminder that baseball is home to White Squirrels as well. This Hot Rods alternate identity, unveiled prior to the 2026 season, pays homage to the Bowling Green region's preponderance of pigmentation-deficient squirrels. They've been an area staple since 1939, and legend has it that they bring good luck. Perhaps that means that if you get the White Squirrels keychain that the team is giving away on Aug. 8, you'll never lose your keys.
Bub City Night
Hub City Spartanburgers (High-A TEX), Aug. 11
One of the highlights of the Spartanburgers' inaugural 2025 campaign was when a mysterious giant bubble floated onto the field during May 10's game. The team is paying tribute to this bizarre game delay on Bub City Night, during which there will be "bubble-themed in-game entertainment." The theme extends to the evening's giveaway, as the first 1,000 fans receive a "bubble"head featuring outfielder Anthony Gutiérrez blowing a giant bubble. This, naturally, is a collaboration with Big League Chew.
Pudding or Mayonnaise?
Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Triple-A MIA), Aug. 13
There is no reason for this promotion to exist. But, then again, there is no reason for it to not exist. The Jumbo Shrimp are asking fans attending Aug. 13's game to discern between pudding and mayonnaise in a blind taste test. Intrepid souls wishing to try their luck are simply asked to "find a promo team member if they want to participate." Be forewarned that publicly differentiating between the sweet and the savory is harder than it looks.
Simpsons Night
Eugene Emeralds (High-A SF), Aug. 15
"The Simpsons" is set in Springfield, though it's never specified which Springfield that may be. The Eugene Emeralds assert that it's Springfield, Ore., and they may have a point. The town's main street features a Simpsons mural signed by show creator Matt Groening, who grew up in Oregon. Eugene, meanwhile, is home to Max's Tavern, a venerable watering hole that is rumored to have inspired Moe's Tavern. At any rate the Emeralds are well positioned to host an annual Simpsons theme night, with this year's iteration taking place on Aug. 15.
Synchronized Hippos
Columbia Fireflies (Single-A KC), Aug. 20
An episode of "Jeopardy!" that aired this past February featured the following clue: In late Spring, Congaree National Park in South Carolina is famous for its nightly display of synchronized these?
The correct response is fireflies, as any fan of Kansas City's Single-A affiliate would know. The Columbia Fireflies, established in 2016, are named in honor of this annual local phenomenon. However! A contestant named Lauren buzzed in and guessed "hippos," inspiring the Fireflies to play as the Synchronized Hippos. The team claims that the game will feature "the largest synchronization of hippopotamuses ever assembled at a professional baseball game! We checked, the record is surprisingly attainable."
Emma Tiedemann talking bobblehead
Portland Sea Dogs (Double-A BOS), Aug. 21
Emma Tiedemann, the voice of the Portland Sea Dogs, has been calling baseball games for over a decade. A notable career highlight occurred on Aug. 24, 2024, when she and Rylee Pay comprised the first all-female broadcast booth in Boston Red Sox history. In August 2025, she returned to Fenway Park, working with color analyst Alanna Rizzo as part of an historic all-female broadcast. Tiedemann, who is therefore a logical choice to be immortalized as a talking bobblehead, recites her call of the final out of the Sea Dogs' combined no-hitter on July 23, 2023.
Hudson Valley Renegades (High-A NYY)
An Ode to Cream Cheese, Aug. 25
Cream cheese was invented in New York's Hudson Valley by William A. Lawrence, which he (accidentally) created after adding cream to Neufchâtel cheese. His innovation was a hit, and went on to be sold as Philadelphia Cream Cheese despite its Empire State roots. Now it's time to set the record straight with a Renegade "Schmear Campaign." An Ode To Cream Cheese is part of the team's season-long effort "to celebrate everything that makes the Hudson Valley great."
Reading Iced Coffees
Reading Fightin Phils (Double-A PHI), Aug. 25
The Fightin' Phils annual Morning Game, originally marketed toward night-shift workers and senior citizens, is a decades-long tradition. In recent seasons the team has added an extra layer to the proceedings by suiting up as a breakfast-themed alternate identity. 2026's iteration, following in the footsteps of Cream Chipped Beef and Flapjacks, is the Iced Coffees. If that's not your speed, please note that the Fightin Phils will also be offering a Brunch Time Beer Tasting Festival.
Sopranos' Vincent Curatola and Federico Castellucio appearance
Somerset Patriots (Double-A NYY), Aug. 27
The Somerset Patriots, like "The Sopranos," operate out of New Jersey. On Aug. 27 they'll welcome Vincent "Johnny Sack" Curatola and Federico "Furio Gunta" Castellucio to the ballpark as part of a Sopranos-themed evening. Get there early to receive one of 1,000 bowling shirts that will be given away, the perfect attire for when you're hanging out with the boys at Satriale's Pork Store.
Chappell Roan Night
Springfield Cardinals (Double-A Springfield, Aug. 27)
Pop star Chappell Roan named her autobiographical 2023 album "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess." Specifically, Roan is from Williard, Mo., part of the greater Springfield metropolitan area. Her hometown Minor League team is staging a theme night in honor of "the 417's favorite daughter" and all her fans are hot to go. Highlights include a Midwest Princess hat offer and Roan-themed in-game entertainment. Here's hoping that next year the Cardinals are inspired to play a game as the Pink Pony Club.
