Shortstop Jesús Made is MLB's No. 1 prospect for a reason, and he's showing why right now.
The Brewers' 19-year-old star prospect continued his hot hitting with Double-A Biloxi on Saturday with a three-hit performance in the Shuckers' 10-3 win over Montgomery at DABOS Park.
Made singled and scored in the first inning, tripled and scored in the third and picked up another single in the ninth. He also recorded his 23rd stolen base of the season for good measure.
It was the sixth time in Made's past 10 games in which he has recorded multiple hits. Over that span, he is batting a cool .385 with a 1.070 OPS. Made has played 66 games this season, and Saturday's was his ninth with at least three hits. He had seven such games in 83 contests last year.
COMPLETE BREWERS PROSPECT COVERAGE
Possessing 60-grade tools almost completely across the board, Made is now slashing .286/.360/.447 across 300 plate appearances this season with Biloxi. While's he's showing more pop at the plate -- his seven homers are already a single-season best -- he has also lowered his strikeout rate by about five percentage points from last year, down to 15.3%.
Not bad for a player who will still be a teenager for about another 10 months.
