These Phillies prospects could crack the Top 100 soon

9:44 PM UTC

The Phillies have three prospects on MLB Pipeline's 2026 Top 100 Prospects list, released last week: shortstop Aidan Miller (No. 23), right-hander Andrew Painter (No. 28) and outfielder Justin Crawford (No. 53).

But prospect development is all about the future, and with Painter and Crawford especially set to graduate to the Majors in 2026, the logical question is: Who's next?

Let's take a look at who's right behind them in the Phillies system as the next prospects with a chance to crack future Top 100 lists:

Gage Wood, RHP (No. 4)

Wood became a household name for his record-breaking College World Series performance in 2025, when he threw a 19-strikeout no-hitter against Murray State, and he was drafted 26th overall by the Phillies a month later. The 22-year-old stands out for the quality of his raw stuff and the ease with which it comes out of his hand, from his high-spin, high-90s four-seam fastball to the power curve that is his signature breaking ball.

Gage certainly has the stuff to dominate hitters. The question regards his role. He has a history of shoulder issues and hasn’t thrown more than 59 ⅓ innings in a season. His ability should allow him to move quickly, but whether that’s as a starter or a reliever will do much to determine his ceiling.

Aroon Escobar, 2B (No. 5)

The 21-year-old Escobar was an under-the-radar signing out of Venezuela in 2022, but he’s really come on the last few years and developed into one of the Phillies' more exciting position-player prospects. His real breakout came in 2025, when Escobar reached Double-A as a 20-year-old and hit .270/.361/.413 with 15 homers and 24 steals across three levels.

Escobar isn’t a premium runner or defender, but he can hit. He has a good feel for the strike zone and makes a lot of contact, combining strength and bat-to-ball skills to produce impressive high-end exit velocities. He’s also learning how to tap into his raw power more and could turn into an offensive-minded second baseman at the highest level.

Dante Nori, OF (No. 6)

The Phillies’ first-round pick in 2024, Nori reached Double-A in his full-season debut in 2025, pairing 34 extra-base hits with 52 steals across three levels. He ranked among the organization's leaders in hits (127), walks (75) and steals, showcasing a profile that’s hit-over-power with plus speed.

The next step for Nori is to grow into more raw pop and learn to incorporate it into his game without sacrificing the hit tool. But he already is working with a very solid foundation as a future professional hitter, with wheels to wreak havoc on the bases and remain in center field. Those types of guys tend to become Top 100 prospects – and useful big league regulars.
