The Red Sox used three of their first four picks on arms in the 2025 Draft. Under a month into the Minor League season, they are already seeing a positive return on the investment -- especially when it comes to third-rounder Anthony Eyanson.
The Red Sox's No. 10 prospect delivered a gem on Saturday in High-A Greenville’s 6-1 victory over Hub City at Fifth Third Park, authoring 4 1/3 perfect frames while striking out seven.

As you might assume from a perfect outing, Eyanson was sharp right from the start. The former Louisiana State Tiger fanned the first batter he faced on three pitches and then closed the frame with another punchout. In total, the 6-foot-2 right-hander landed 34 of his 54 pitched for strikes. Opponents swung and missed 11 times.
Between his first two starts as a pro, Eyanson has allowed just one run and three knocks over 7 1/3 innings. He has 13 strikeouts and a gaudy 16 K/9 rate -- third-best in the South Atlantic League (Red Sox No. 5 prospect Juan Valera is first with a 17.3 K/9).
At Louisiana State, Eyanson relied on breaking pitches to put away opponents, specifically using his 65-grade slider. But since turning pro, his four-seamer has made significant progress. While Eyanson was in college, his four-seamer sat between 92-94 mph. At Spring Breakout in late March, the velocity of the offering took a major jump, touching 100.2 mph. The 21-year-old delivered a clean frame in the event, fanning the side in the eighth inning on three curveballs.
Eyanson already has a penchant for spinning the baseball. If he continues to sharpen his heater, he could become a real problem for hitters.
