Justin Lebron knows how to make a first impression.
It took the No. 18 overall pick in the 2026 Draft just two pitches to tally his first knock as a pro as he checked off multiple milestones in High-A Dayton's 8-4 loss to Lake County at Classic Auto Group Park on Tuesday.
Batting second and playing shortstop for the Reds affiliate, Lebron collected his first hit off southpaw Nelson Keljo (Guardians). The Alabama product swung through a diving changeup on the outside corner before turning on a heater and lacing it through the left side of the infield. He scored one batter later on backstop Ryan McCrystal's two-run homer.
In the second, Lebron ticked off another box -- his first extra-base hit. Facing Keljo again, the 21-year-old ripped a line drive to left field. The laser bounced off the wall, allowing Lebron to trot into second base standing up.
He put good wood on a warning-track flyout in his next at-bat but finished the contest 2-for-5.

Ranked as MLB Pipeline's No. 9 prospect ahead of the Draft, Lebron slashed .277/.386/.534 across 61 games during his junior season for the Crimson Tide. He struck out 56 times compared to 27 walks -- a step back from his .316/.421/.636 line in 2025.
Despite the dip in average, the Florida native still profiles as a potential future star thanks to his elite toolbox. Aside from his hitting, graded 45 prior to the Draft, Lebron received plus marks across the board. His power, fielding and arm were all evaluated as 60s, while his run tool was recognized as a true elite attribute at 70.

In 2026, Lebron swiped 42 bags, tied for fifth-most in Division I. He also hit 16 homers, scored 58 runs and notched 48 RBIs while serving as a key piece of the first Alabama team to reach the Men's College World Series since 1999.
“I think I’m someone who’s tough,” Lebron told MLB.com prior to the Draft. “I like to be very competitive, and I want the pitcher or whoever I’m playing against to be like, ‘I don’t want to play against that guy.’”
With a multihit night in his first pro contest, Lebron is off to a strong start in that direction.
