has been through some ups and downs as a prospect. However, the 2026 season and the month of May have been extremely high highs.

Arroyo went 2-for-3 on Thursday with a home run and a walk for Triple-A Louisville, aiding a 4-2 win over Indianapolis at Louisville Slugger Field. The Reds’ No. 3 prospect now has at least one hit in 10 of 11 games in May, including multiple hits in seven games.

Arroyo led off the game with his ninth homer of the season, taking José Urquidy’s 2-2 fastball 399 feet to right center at 107.8 mph. The switch-hitting shortstop collected his walk in the third inning, stealing second base and scoring on a single to tie the game at 2 apiece.

Arroyo then singled through the right side of the infield in the seventh. He recorded another steal, his seventh of the season, but was stranded at second this time around.

Once a piece of the Luis Castillo deal between the Reds and Mariners, the former 2021 second-rounder jumped back into MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 at No. 100 this week after being featured on the list in each of the past three seasons, with a high mark of No. 44 in 2023.

Arroyo is now up to a .348/.415/.610 slash line in 40 games this season, with his 1.025 OPS second among qualified hitters in the International League. May has been a whole new level, too, with a 1.519 OPS and .479 average over 11 games.

Arroyo did not play in 2024 due to a torn labrum, but he returned to play 120 games at Double-A a year ago. Now, in his first trip to the highest tier of the Minor Leagues, Arroyo is enjoying a big-time breakout.
