Phillies greats Victorino, Bowa to manage All-Star Futures teams in Philadelphia

Two Phillies World Series champions from different eras will face off in the 2026 All-Star Futures Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Shane Victorino will manage the National League Futures team while Bowa will helm the American League’s young stars.

The 27th edition of the Futures Game features the top Minor League prospects competing as part of All-Star weekend. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 12.

A two-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, Victorino won four Gold Gloves across 12 MLB seasons. Victorino starred as the center fielder for Philadelphia through one of the franchise’s most successful eras through the late 2010s, winning a World Series in 2008. “The Flyin’ Hawaiian went on to win another World Series with the Red Sox in 2013.

For Bowa, the now 80-year-old has spent nearly 40 years in the Phillies organization as a player, coach, manager and front office executive. He was a star shortstop for Philadelphia in the 1970s and 80s, winning the 1980 World Series alongside Mike Schmidt. Bowa managed the Phillies from 2001-04, helping develop star shortstop Jimmy Rollins. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor to Baseball Operations for the Phillies.

The remainder of the coaching staff for both sides will be announced in the coming weeks, but fans can still check out Victorino and his former teammates Ryan Howard and Rollins in the all-new MLBx: All-Star 3-on-3 competition the same day. Tickets for the Futures game also grant access to the all-new event.
