Typically, the Draft comes in the middle of the baseball season. For The Show Before the Show podcast, it arrives right at the beginning.
Ben, Sam and Tyler were joined by fellow Minor League experts Josh Jackson and Kelsie Heneghan on the latest episode of the Minor League Baseball podcast to build their own dream MiLB clubs ahead of Opening Days for the Double-A, High-A and Single-A levels on Thursday and Friday.
Each of the participants were tasked with making selections in the following categories: city, team name/logos, alternate identity, ballpark and top prospect. They could draft a team in any category at any time in the process, but once a Minor League team was taken in any bucket (except for top prospect), it was off the board for everyone else. The goal here is to put the spotlight on as many Minor League clubs as possible (20 in this case) before the 2026 season really kicks into gear.
Check out the MiLB social media pages to vote for your favorite collection of picks, and share your thoughts -- including how you'd build your franchise with those teams still left on the board -- by emailing The Show Before the Show at podcast@milb.com.
