The force was strong in a standout game for Hans Montero on Saturday night.

The Yankees prospect matched his season total in one night with a trio of home runs for Single-A Tampa. Montero swatted a pair of early solo shots against Clearwater left-hander Kevin Warunek (Phillies) in the third and right-hander Ramon Marquez (PHI No. 9) in the fifth.

The infielder capped off his four-RBI night with a two-run blast in the ninth off of righty Marty Gair, cutting the deficit in half in an eventual 8-6 loss. Tampa saw another long ball party at George M. Steinbrenner Field for the second time this series after Jackson Lovich, who also homered Saturday night, powered three home runs of his own in Wednesday’s contest.

Montero’s powerful performance raised his OPS to .923 on the season. He sports a slash line of .269/.392/.531 with 18 extra-base hits, 24 RBIs and 28 runs scored. Saturday marked the second multihomer game in Montero’s six-year pro career, and the first instance with three in a game. He also tallied a three-hit game for the third time in 2026.

Montero came to the Yankees from the Dominican Republic in the 2021 international signing period with a bonus of $1.7 million. Still just 22 years old, New York’s infield prospect is on pace for career highs across the board offensively this year and took another step forward with Saturday’s home run party.
