Softball: Pitching Development for Beginners Session (Available on rolling basis)

This course will seek to develop the basic fundamentals of pitching.

For Beginners/Novice players only if you have never pitched or have little experience this course is for you. (Players who play at the rec level, or you are on teams registered as C)

This course will seek to develop the basic fundamentals of Catching.

Softball: Advanced Footwork & Glovework Session (Available on rolling basis)

This course will focus on advanced movements when fielding and receiving a ball, while still maintaining and fine tuning the basic fundamentals.

Turf shoes or tennis shoes and gloves are required. Participants should plan on bringing pants and long sleeves with them for the days we slide and dive.

Softball: Hitting Concepts for Beginners Session (Available on rolling basis)

This course will focus on fundamentals and breaking down hitting mechanics.

Baseball 101 Session (Available on rolling basis)

Baseball 101 is an introductory skill development course for the novice/beginning player ages 5 to 8. Athletes will be instructed in the basic fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, and baserunning.

Baseball: Royals Friday Night Legends Ages 13-18 Session (Available on rolling basis)

The Royals Friday Night Legends program was designed to help identify and develop athletes ages 13-18 from underserved communities, as well as the Greater Kansas City area who might not be able to play fall ball or who would like extra work.

Games will be every Friday starting September 9th and run through October 14th from 6:00-8:00 pm. No pitching is required (Machine Pitch), each inning players will be put into a different situation with a different count in efforts to teach the fundamentals of the game. All talent levels are welcome from the classes of 23,24,25,26,27.

Youth Elite Training Presented by Nike Ages 13-18 Session (Available on rolling basis)

Youth Elite Training Presented by Nike is designed to help players of intermediate to advanced level improve their overall skills for the game of baseball. Players will receive instruction in hitting, fielding, baserunning and overall athleticism. Players should wear attire that is similar to the game experience. The best benefits are gained with players that attend all of the sessions for this six week class.

Gloveworks is designed for the intermediate to advanced player desiring to get additional small group work. Players will focus their skills for infield play, outfield play, catching, or pitching. Players should plan on attending all sessions to gain the most benefit. All players in this program should have their own equipment.

Fundamentals of Youth Baseball Development

This course being led by Dylan Wilson- Manager of Sports Medicine, Sport Development will teach the fundamentals of youth baseball development. Coaches, parents, and players will learn how to define success for a youth baseball player, the unique needs of a youth athlete, and how to prepare them for success. The ultimate goal of this course is to provide the audience with the tools and knowledge to help our youth athletes become life-long learners and stewards of the game of baseball, develop and grow as a baseball player, and stay healthy. **THIS COURSE WILL BE HELD VIA ZOOM** Topics to be discussed will be as follows:

  • Don't Retire Kid - The Importance of Fun

  • Neurodevelopment - How motor and cognitive development plays a role in coaching and teaching youth

  • Sport specialization vs sport sampling

  • Warm Up for The Youth Player

  • Strength and Conditioning for The Youth Athlete

  • Pitching Mechanics

  • Hitting Mechanics

  • Workload management

  • Off the field topics-sleep, nutrition, social media

  • Practice Design and implementation
