The Kansas City Royals Foundation provides financial support to help improve baseball and/or softball facilities throughout the Midwest region through the Royalty Fields Program presented by Price Chopper. The Kansas City Royals Foundation will match grants to help non-profit organizations and local government units that operate baseball and/or softball programs.
The Kansas City Royals Foundation is no longer accepting 2023 Royalty Fields grant applications. Please check back later for information on the 2024 grant cycle.

- Dugouts
Items that do not qualify are:

Eligibility
The program is open to any independent Midwest, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization or local government unit that operates a youth baseball and/or softball program in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma or Arkansas. The average matching grant awarded is $5,000 to $10,000. Organizations must prove that they have secured funding (monetary and/or in-kind support) in order to receive matching funds. Organizations that have not secured funding may apply for a matching funds grant but should expect to receive a Royalty Fields grant award only in the amount that has been raised by the applicant organization (if the application is approved by The Kansas City Royals Foundation.)
Application Process/Schedule
Royalty Fields applications must be submitted using this application form by the deadline posted to be considered for funding. As part of this application, you will be asked to upload the following required documentation:
- Pictures of the field and/or area being renovated
- A list of your program’s board members/government agency’s council members
- A copy of your 501(c)3 IRS designation letter (if applicable)
Once the application is received and reviewed, The Kansas City Royals Foundation may call to schedule a site visit. In addition, The Kansas City Royals Foundation may schedule a follow-up site visit once funding has been awarded and a project is completed. Please note that if an application is not received by the deadline, it will only be reviewed if funding is available after timely requests have been considered, and the organization might be asked to resubmit during the next grant cycle.
Additional Requirements
Grant recipients will prominently display provided signage recognizing program supporters and seek local media coverage for grant dedication ceremony.
