Frequently Asked Questions

I haven’t played baseball in a while, is that okay?

This is the single biggest concern we have amongst new campers. We can't stress enough that there is no prerequisite for experience, talent or physical prowess. The camp is meant to be fun, and we have campers of all ages and abilities. We only require that you enjoy the game of baseball and the Red Sox.

Do most people attend with a friend or attend on their own?

We have a great mix of attendees. We have friends coming down together, father/son combinations, co-workers, etc. In addition, we have many campers (almost 75%) who come down completely on their own. If you do happen to come alone, there are many opportunities to meet and socialize with other campers, and many new lifelong friendships have been started at camp.

How are teams selected?

Following a morning workout and drills on the first day of camp, our former pros will assign players to their respective teams. Please note that apart from immediate family members attending camp together, teammate requests will not be permitted. This is to allow the pros to equitably assign players to teams and to allow campers to meet new teammates, which is one of the most fun parts of Fantasy Camp!

Do I need a rental car?

Transportation is provided to/from the Hotel and the ballpark each day. It is not necessary to rent a car and is entirely up to you if you decide to do so. National Car Rental is the Official Car Rental of the Boston Red Sox and Red Sox Fantasy Camps. If you do want to rent a car, we provide a link to you to get our rate through National Car Rental before camp.

What is the average age of a camper?

The minimum age to attend camp is 30 years old. Our campers range in age from 30 - 78 years old. Regardless of age, each camper has the same opportunity to play.

What equipment do I need for camp?

We provide a full home and road Red Sox uniform along with some Red Sox warm-up items, hat, belt, and pair of socks. We also provide all bats, helmets, catchers gear and other general baseball equipment. Each camper should bring their own glove, cleats and any accessories they may want for the week (sunglasses, batting gloves, etc). We do offer campers the opportunity to purchase their own helmet and batting gloves through us before camp.

How can I ensure my uniform will fit?

Within the registration flow we provide a size chart for the uniforms, as well as explain each uniform item. The best way to make sure your uniform will fit is to take a tape measure and have someone measure the areas we request sizing for. We always recommend to choose the larger size if you are in between sizes. Uniform pants are totally customizable to fit what you want, you can even request knickers!

Are there photographers available to capture the week's events?

Yes. We have professional photographers from PixPro Photo onsite all week long to capture everything. Photos will be available for purchase both at the camp and afterward.

Are family and friends allowed at camp?

Yes. Friends, family and fans alike are allowed to attend all games free of charge. If you wish to have your family member or friend attend the functions, these are available at an additional charge and can be purchased on an individual basis or through a spectator package which includes access to all events, as well as other special amenities.

What is the Fantasy Camp Reunion game?

All campers are invited to take part in a reunion game at Fenway Park during the 2025 season. This is an additional charge, but includes a ticket to a Red Sox game, and the opportunity to play a game at Fenway Park the following day. See the Fenway Reunion tab for more detail on this exclusive opportunity.

What kind of physical shape should I be in for camp?

We recommend that every camper try to be in the best shape possible to ensure their Fantasy Camp experience is enjoyed to its fullest. That said, we realize that nobody attending is a professional athlete, so Olympic training ahead of time is in no way required. We also have the Red Sox professional training staff on site to help with any injuries or sore muscles that may result from a week at camp.

Is there a dress code for evening events during the week?

Casual wear is acceptable at all events throughout the week, except business casual is recommended for the Closing Night Awards Banquet.

Is this camp just for men?

No! This camp is open to everyone!

Is airfare included?

No, airfare is not included.
