SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- D-backs outfielder Yasmany Tomas went through full workouts Wednesday and could return to the lineup as soon as Friday, after being out the past 10 days with pain in his left knee.
The return date for outfielder A.J. Pollock, who is battling a sore elbow, is less certain.
"I have no update on when he'll be playing, but I know he threw and hit off the tee and [did] some soft toss today, so that's good," D-backs manager Chip Hale said.

Pollock said the elbow has been feeling better, but the last time he felt that way he tried to do too much too soon and wound up aggravating it again.
"That's kind of how I ruined it last time," Pollock said. "I'll be out there. I'll be out there pretty soon. I'm not going to put a timeline on it. We're going to just kind of listen to my body. I'm going to have plenty of at-bats this spring."
Playing well
The D-backs won 11 of their first 15 games this spring and Hale was asked if he wished the regular season started this week.
"I think the guys have played great," Hale said. "The effort's been there, the execution for the most part has been there. It would be hard to start tomorrow because I don't know what 25 to take. It's really hard. We have a lot of guys playing very well, at a high level, so they're making it very difficult on us to make the decisions. So we'll let it play out another week or 10 days and then we'll have to pick a team."
Camp game
While Tuesday was an off-day for most of the team, it was a day of work for some pitchers, who needed to get their throwing in.
Shelby Miller, Yoan Lopez and Silvino Bracho threw in a camp game at Salt River Fields.
