Braves claim outfielder Adam Walker

The Atlanta Braves today claimed outfielder Adam Walker off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. Walker will replace Tuffy Gosewich on the 40-man roster after Seattle claimed the catcher off waivers. Atlanta's 40-man roster is at 39 players.
Walker, 25, spent last season with Minnesota's Triple-A affiliate at Rochester, where he hit .243 (116-for-478) with 27 home runs and 75 RBI in 132 games. His 27 home runs ranked second in the International League while his .479 slugging percentage was sixth. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound native of Milwaukee, Wis., has hit at least 20 home runs in each of his four full minor league seasons, including a personal-best 31 in 2015 while with Double-A Chattanooga.
Originally drafted out of Jacksonville University by Minnesota in the third round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, Walker has hit 124 minor league home runs, while batting .251 (559-for-2,225) in 584 games.
Milwaukee claimed Walker off waivers on November 18, 2016 before Baltimore claimed him on December 2. The Orioles designated him for assignment on January 20.
