Washington Nationals Homestand Highlights vs. Baltimore Orioles (May 21–23), Cincinnati Reds (May 25–27) & Milwaukee Brewers (May 28–30)

Coming off a two-city road trip, the Nationals return home to D.C. for an exciting nine-game homestand, kicking off with the Beltway Series presented by Inova when the Baltimore Orioles visit Nats Park, followed by Sean Doolittle and the Cincinnati Reds, and finally closing out the homestand with the Milwaukee Brewers, who will visit Nationals Park for the first time since the 2019 National League Wild Card game.

Single-game tickets are now available to the general public for every home game between May 21 and 30, when Nationals Park will operate at 36% capacity. Tickets start at $14 and fans interested in purchasing tickets in pods of 1-6 people should visit nationals.com/Tickets2021.

In response to the Mayor’s announcement on Monday regarding mask requirements in the District of Columbia, the Washington Nationals will be changing the face covering policy at Nationals Park starting this homestand. Ticketed fans who are not fully vaccinated will be required to wear an approved face covering at all times except when actively eating or drinking in their seats. Fully vaccinated fans – meaning two weeks past the final shot – will be able to attend the upcoming games without wearing an approved face covering. This applies to all fans regardless of sitting indoors or outdoors. Fans can visit nationals.com/WelcomeHome for information regarding acceptable face coverings at the ballpark.

The fourth homestand of the season features a Kids Travel Pillow giveaway presented by Harris Teeter and the second game of the Patriotic Series on the Sunday before Memorial Day. The promotional schedule for May can be viewed at nationals.com/Promotions.

FRIDAY, MAY 21

o The Nationals will host their neighbors from the North in the annual Beltway Series, presented by Inova, when the Baltimore Orioles visit Nationals Park for a three-game series from Friday, May 21 through Sunday, May 23.

o The Washington Nationals will be partnering with the D.C. Department of Health to host two vaccination events at Nationals Park during the upcoming homestand.

o Before the games on Friday May 21 and Sunday May 23 against the Orioles, the Department of Health will be stationed right outside Nationals Park to offer free Johnson & Johnson vaccines to anyone from DC, Maryland, or Virginia who would like to be vaccinated, even if they aren’t attending the game.

§ The event will run from 4 to 8 pm on Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday. No appointment is needed to get a vaccine.

§ The event will take place on the corner of 1st St and Potomac Ave, near the grand staircase at First Base Gate (where the First St. Party Tent was located).

o Not only will fans get a free vaccine, but the first 200 fans each day to receive a vaccine onsite at Nationals Park will receive a Nationals prize bag as well!

o Fans that are headed to the game will be able to store their prize bag for free at one of the Binbox locations outside the ballpark.

o For each Friday home game, Nationals Philanthropies will celebrate #FRIDAYS4GOOD to encourage Nationals fans to support important community impact work.

o On Friday, May 21, fans will be invited to support the Jackie Robinson Foundation, created to continue Robinson’s commitment to equal opportunity by addressing the achievement gap in higher education.

§ Fans can make a contribution at give.nats4good.org/Fridays4Good. The first 50 donors will receive a “42” decal in honor of Robinson.

o Nationals Philanthropies is also auctioning off authentic signed and game-worn Nationals jerseys from Jackie Robinson Day, with proceeds benefitting the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy and the Jackie Robinson Foundation.

§ Over 40 players and coaches jerseys are available to bid on. Many of the jerseys are game-worn from either the April 15 game vs. Arizona Diamondbacks or the April 23 game at New York Mets.

§ The online auction is currently open through Monday, May 24. Fans can place their bids by visiting nationals.com/JRDAuction.

SUNDAY, MAY 23

o On Sunday, May 23 against the Baltimore Orioles, every child 12 years of age and younger will receive a Kids Travel Pillow presented by Harris Teeter.

o Last month, the Nationals and Josh Bell announced the Josh Bell Book Club, a monthly book club for adults focused on self-improvement.

o Each month throughout the 2021 season, Josh will lead an hour-long, virtual discussion about a book that he has selected to feature in the club. Librarians from Prince George’s County Memorial Library System and Fairfax County Public Library, the preferred library partners of Josh Bell’s Book Club, will co-host and guide the monthly discussions along with Josh, and special guests may also join.

o Anyone interested in taking part in the discussion will be able to register about two weeks prior to the event each month.

§ The first book club discussion will take place on Sunday, May 23 via Zoom from 7 to 8 p.m. and will discuss The Mental Game of Baseball: A Guide to Peak Performance by H.A. Dorfman and Karl Kuehl.

o More information about the program, including future meeting dates and registration info is available at nationals.com/BookClub.

FRIDAY, MAY 28

o Ahead of Memorial Day, the Nationals will host families from TAPS (the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) throughout the weekend.

o TAPS is a nonprofit organization that provides support to family members, casualty officers, and caregivers of America’s fallen military service members.

o The Nationals are proud partners of the TAPS organization.

o For each Friday home game, Nationals Philanthropies will celebrate #FRIDAYS4GOOD to encourage Nationals fans to support important community impact work.

§ On Friday, May 28, fans will be invited to support Nationals Philanthropies directly and help support the work of Nationals Philanthropies and its signature program, the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, by making a donation at give.nats4good.org/Fridays4Good.

§ Contributions support a 2021 Class Gift in celebration of the graduating eighth-grade Scholar Athletes at the Academy.

SATURDAY, MAY 29

SUNDAY, MAY 30

o In the second of four games in the 2021 Patriotic Series, the Nationals will host the annual Memorial Day remembrance on Sunday, May 30 in the series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers.

MONDAY, MAY 31

o As a son of a decorated police chief and part of a family with a long history of first responders and military service, Nationals outfielder Kyle Schwarber recognizes the unique sacrifice first responders and their families make. In 2017, Schwarber launched Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes, a program created to recognize, honor, and thank first responders for their commitment to others.

o Throughout the 2021 season, Kyle is committed to delivering this message of gratitude at a one-on-one level. Whether virtually or potentially in person later in the year, Kyle will meet with first responder families and recognize individual first responder achievement.

§ Since the team is not home on Memorial Day this year, to honor the military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice, Kyle will host members from TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) and their families at Nationals Park to watch batting practice and hold a meet-and-greet on Friday, May 21.
