Washington Nationals Homestand Highlights vs. Boston Red Sox (October 1–3)

The Nationals return to D.C. for the final homestand of the 2021 season, featuring a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox. Single-game tickets are on sale to the general public for the Red Sox series, starting at just $13. Fans who are interested in purchasing tickets should visit nationals.com/Tickets2021.

The final homestand of the season features the Fallen Heroes Tribute, a Postgame Fireworks show, a Nationals Beanie Giveaway, Jerseys Off Their Backs and Kids Run the Bases. The promotional schedule for the remainder of the season can be viewed at nationals.com/Promotions.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1

o Before Friday’s game against the Red Sox, the Nationals will host the annual remembrance of all the first responders who have passed away in the line of duty.

o The police, fire, and EMTs who serve our region every day will be honored as part of the observance, including a recognition of fallen first responders, with their families, friends, and colleagues who will take the field during the pregame ceremonies.

o We hope fans will arrive early and get to their seats for Friday’s game to join us for this special moment.

o The Nationals will host the inaugural DEA Night with a pre-game ceremony with students from the Operation Engage program, featuring a truck display at the corner of 1st St and Potomac Ave starting at 5:30pm.

o Operation Engage is a comprehensive approach that will target the top drug threat identified by the local DEA division while continuing to focus on drug trafficking, violence, and crime reduction. Other components of Operation Engage include:

§ DEA’s Citizens Academy: The academy offers participants the opportunity to understand the world of federal drug law enforcement and the important role DEA and the community play together.

· Jerseys Off Their Backs

o Fans will have the opportunity to win authenticated, game-worn, autographed jerseys right off the backs of Nationals players and Manager Dave Martinez as part of Nationals Philanthropies’ annual Jerseys Off Their Backs fundraiser.

o Tickets will be sold throughout the Nats-Red Sox series from Friday, October 1 through Sunday, October 3 at Nationals Park. Fans can purchase tickets from raffle sellers in Center Field Plaza.

o On Friday, October 1, after the 7:05 game vs. the Boston Red Sox, Nationals fans will have an opportunity to watch a special Postgame Fireworks show.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2

· Nationals Beanie Giveaway

o On Saturday October 2, against the Boston Red Sox, the first 20,000 fans ages 21 and over will receive a Nationals Beanie, presented by Budweiser.

o The hat is perfect for Nats fans as the weather begins to get a little chillier!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3

o All kids ages 4 through 12 will have the opportunity to run the bases after Sunday day games, weather permitting.

o All children participating in Kids Run the Bases must wear a face covering over their nose and mouth while on the field, per Major League Baseball’s health and safety protocols. Parents who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear a face mask while accompanying their children down onto the field.

HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS AT NATIONALS PARK

o Indoor spaces include, but are not limited to: restaurants, retail stores, bathrooms, clubs, elevators, stairwells, corridors, conference rooms, offices, first aid, the sensory room and nursing mother’s lounge.

Nationals have installed new MERV-13 air filters within indoor spaces, as well as Plexiglas and other suitable dividers in areas where significant face-to-face interaction occurs.

GETTING TO THE BALLPARK

Parking options for Nationals fans are available online at nationals.com/Parking. All Washington Nationals parking lots are now cashless, and will only accept credit card payment at this time. Fans are encouraged to purchase parking in advance to ensure a space in their desired zone.

Fans traveling to the ballpark should be aware that there are construction projects underway in the surrounding area. To ensure safe crossings, please be mindful of signage and directions given by public safety officers.
