What's Happening Memorial Day Weekend at Citizens Bank Park: Phillies vs. Guardians, May 22-24
Summer is just around the corner at Citizens Bank Park! Here’s a look at the fan highlights for this Memorial Day Weekend series against the Cleveland Guardians, May 22–24, as the Phillies close out the homestand:
At the 6:40 p.m. series opener on Friday, May 22, all fans will receive a BradyPLUS Cristopher Sánchez Bobble Figurine.
*Gate openings: 3B/LF 4:40 p.m.; all other gates 5:10 p.m.*- Prior to the first pitch, Miller Lite 12 oz. cans will be available at Miller Lite Liberty Landing for $6.99. The first 250 fans to purchase through this deal will receive a Phillies and Miller Lite co-branded beverage wrap.
On Saturday, May 23, fans are encouraged to be in their seats at 3:35 p.m. for the Phillies Salute to Service presented by Toyota, being held before that day’s 4:05 p.m. game. The special on-field celebration will recognize active duty members, veterans and their families for their service.
Gate openings: 3B/LF 1:35 p.m.; all other gates 2:35 p.m.- Opening ceremonies will feature an exciting flyover by the search and rescue pilots and aircrew of Air Station Atlantic City in an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter, as well as a ceremonial first pitch by U.S. Air Force veteran and former pararescue medic Holly Beckes, a volunteer with the Veterans Multi-Service Center who was recently given a Salute to Service surprise.
- Also taking part in the on-field ceremonies is former U.S. Marine Todd Kerkering, pitcher Orion Kerkering’s father.
- A Joint All-Service Honor Guard will join the U.S. Army Field Band Federal Brass to perform the national anthem, and PA National Guard Staff Sergeant Kevin Herzgerger will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. - Enjoy the pregame Budweiser Block Party with DJ HBK at the Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar behind Section 148.
- Be on the lookout for Toyota vehicles on display at each entrance gate on Saturday and Sunday.
- Fans can also check out the RE/MAX Balloon on Citizens Bank Way throughout the weekend.
The series concludes on Sunday, May 24, at 1:35 p.m. with Phanatic About Reading Day presented by Xfinity. Children 14 and under will receive the Phanatic’s new book, The Phillie Phanatic’s Trip Down the Shore.
Gate openings: 3B/LF 11:05 a.m.; All other gates 12:05 p.m.- Fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used books for kids and teens at the First Base, Third Base and Left Field Gates to benefit Tree House Books.
- Before the game, this year’s Most Improved and Most Outstanding student readers in the Phanatic About Reading program, nominated by their teachers, will be recognized on field. Please click here for a full list of honorees.
- Harry Moore, illustrator of The Phillie Phanatic’s Trip Down the Shore, will be signing copies of the Phanatic’s books by the First Base elevator lobby on the main concourse from 12:15–1:15 p.m.
- Enjoy complimentary face painting at The Yard before the game.
- At the end of the 3rd inning, 102-year-old WWII veteran Hal Katz, who emigrated from Germany in 1938 and enlisted in the US Army, will be honored as the Toyota Hometown Hero.
