If the players on the latest edition of the Prospect Team of the Week look familiar to you, your eyes do not deceive.
Six players are returning honorees, including three who have already made appearances on an edition (or two) earlier this season.
Two players from the Top 100 Prospects list return to the Prospect Team of the Week -- Cubs infielder Jefferson Rojas (second career appearance) and Lazaro Montes (sixth) -- along with fellow returners in Cubs catcher Owen Ayers (second), Blue Jays corner infielder Sean Keys (third), Giants outfielder Bo Davidson (second) and Guardians outfielder Alfonsin Rosario (second).
To be eligible for the Pipeline Prospect Team of the Week, Minor League players must be ranked among their club's Top 30 prospects on Pipeline's lists. (Those in the Majors do not qualify.)
This is the Prospect Team of the Week for June 1-7:

C: Owen Ayers, Knoxville Smokies (Double-A)
Cubs No. 9
.524/.630/.952, 6 G, 11-for-21, 2 HR, 3 2B, 8 RBI, 5 R, 6 BB, 4 K
Ayers has been hitting better with each successive month, with a .802 OPS in May making way for a red-hot June. The switch-hitter collected knocks in all six games last week and posted back-to-back contests with three hits and a homer. The reigning Arizona Fall League Breakout Player of the Year, who also made a Prospect Team of the Week appearance in April, stole a base to make him a perfect 5-for-5 this season and 13-for-13 in pro ball.
1B: Sean Keys, New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Double-A) and Buffalo Bisons (Triple-A)
Blue Jays No. 15
.333/.455/.778, 6 G, 6-for-18, 2 HR, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 4 R, 3 BB, 6 K
Keys has been the Blue Jays' top-performing hitting prospect this season -- he's already made consecutive Prospect Team of the Week appearances in April -- and earned a promotion midway through the week. After going deep twice for the Fisher Cats, he added a double, hit and walk to start his Triple-A tenure. Among qualified full-season Toronto Minor Leaguers, the 2024 fourth-rounder ranks top three in all triple-slash categories (.282/.406/.569) and leads the group in homers (14) and total bases (103).
2B: Yordany De Los Santos, Greensboro Grasshoppers (High-A)
Pirates No. 18
.393/.433/.714, 5 G, 11-for-28, 2 HR, 3 2B, 10 RBI, 7 R, 2 BB, 10 K, 6 SB
De Los Santos was a league-average hitter as a 20-year-old in Single-A last year, but he's taken things to another level upon his first real taste of High-A action. The 6-foot-1 infielder, who splits his time between second and short, picked up multiple hits in four of his five games last week -- capped by a four-hit, two-homer performance. And after swiping 51 bags on 65 attempts last year, he went a perfect 6-for-6 this week, which brings him to an efficient 17-for-19 on the year. With 11 homers in 29 games after missing time due to a right hamstring injury, he's on pace for a 30-50 season.
3B: Jefferson Rojas, Knoxville Smokies (Double-A)
Cubs No. 1/MLB No. 80
.400/.429/.920, 6 G, 10-for-25, 3 HR, 1 3B, 2 2B, 7 RBI, 11 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 4 SB
After playing mostly shortstop and second base in years past, Rojas has been primarily a third baseman lately with some shortstop mixed in -- and he's really finding his stride at the plate. The Dominican Republic native has hit safely in 18 of his past 21 contests and picked up multiple knocks in each of his past four games. With two homers on Saturday -- including the longest ever at Knoxville's Covenant Health Park -- and another on Sunday, he's up to a .497 slugging percentage, a career best by almost 100 points. Rojas previously made a Prospect Team of the Week in July 2025.
SS: Denzer Guzman, Salt Lake Bees (Triple-A)
Angels No. 7
.476/.522/.952, 5 G, 10-for-21, 2 HR, 2 3B, 7 RBI, 5 R, 2 BB, 2 K, 1 SB, 1 CS
How hot is Guzman right now? Across his past five series, the big-time signing out of the Dominican Republic has 18 multihit games, which has helped increase his OPS from .772 to .974. His best game yet was a four-hit showing with a homer and two triples on Thursday, and the 22-year-old leads Triple-A and ranks second across the Minors with 80 hits. In just 58 games, Guzman is five homers away from tying his career high (17 in 129 games last year).
OF: Lazaro Montes, Arkansas Travelers (Double-A)
Mariners No. 4/MLB No. 27
.400/.483/1.040, 6 G, 10-for-25, 5 HR, 1 2B, 10 RBI, 9 R, 3 BB, 5 K, 1 SB, 1 CS
Montes is known for having some of the best thump in the Minors, so it's fitting that he'd make the Prospect Team of the Week again -- after previously doing so in August 2023, three times in 2024 and again this May -- with another massive power showing. The hulking 6-foot-5 slugger delivered his 12th professional multihomer game on Tuesday and went deep three more times later in the week. The 21-year-old ranks second in the Texas League in home runs (17) and isolated power (.305) while cutting a point off his strikeout rate from last year.
OF: Bo Davidson, Richmond Flying Squirrels (Double-A)
Giants No. 6
.385/.385/1.000, 6 G, 10-for-26, 5 HR, 1 2B, 8 RBI, 8 R, 0 BB, 4 K
Davidson is one of the best non-drafted free agent signings in years, having earned the nickname of "JUCO Barry Bonds" while at Caldwell Community College in North Carolina. The left-handed slugger didn't exactly live up to that moniker in June when he went deep once in 22 games with a .664 OPS, but he's made up for lost time in a hurry. Last week, the center fielder went deep in five of six games -- including one in four straight -- and now leads all Giants Minor Leaguers with 11 roundtrippers this season. He previously made a Prospect Team of the Week in August 2024.
OF: Alfonsin Rosario, Akron RubberDucks (Double-A)
Guardians No. 13
.455/.517/1.000, 6 G, 10-for-22, 3 HR, 3 2B, 13 RBI, 7 R, 5 BB, 2 K
The 2023 sixth-rounder has one of the best power-speed combinations in the Guardians' farm system -- it's just been a matter of making enough conact. Through the first two months of the season, the right-handed-hitting right fielder was running a 41.1 percent strikeout rate, but he showed what he could do last week when that problem went away. Rosario struck out just twice in 29 plate appearances while collecting 10 hits and five walks. He also delivered his second multihomer game of the season while reaching base safely five times on Friday, aiding him to his first Prospect Team of the Week appearance since July 25.
LHP: Zach Root, Great Lakes Loons (High-A)
Dodgers No. 12
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K, 0.14 WHIP
After drafting him 40th overall last year, the Dodgers have kept Root on a tight leash. The Arkansas product has not gone beyond four innings or 70 pitches in any of his first seven starts, even as he's been quite effective. Allowed to go deeper for the first time in pro ball, the southpaw struck out nine across seven scoreless innings with just one hit allowed. With his latest start, Root extends his scoreless streak to 19 1/3 innings and has not allowed an earned run since April 11 -- also his last start in which he allowed multiple hits.
RHP: Jeter Martinez, Bradenton Marauders (Single-A)
Pirates No. 25
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 6 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 11 K, 0.00 WHIP
The fifth-ranked right-handed pitching prospect in the 2023 international class, Martinez is starting to fulfill his potential in his second season at Single-A. Not only did he tie his career high of eight strikeouts over six scoreless innings, but he also only issued one walk. Free passes were a problem in April (17.7 percent), but the 6-foot-4 starter cut that figure to 11 percent in the six outings since.
RP: Javen Coleman, FCL Blue Jays (ROK) and Dunedin Blue Jays (Single-A)
Blue Jays No. 23
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 0.00 WHIP
The 2023 16th-rounder had a solid debut season last season, with the only blemish being his 23 walks in 54 innings. The southpaw has completely erased that issue this year with just one walk to 21 strikeouts in 12 frames after two strong rehab outings last week -- eight up, eight down with six K's. Among Minor Leaguers with at least 10 innings pitched, his 42.6 percent K-BB rate ranks fourth.
