Injury: Right shoulder impingement and ankle sprain
IL date: March 24 (10-day IL, retroactive to March 23)
Expected return: Possibly May 13
Status: Sprained ankle running to first base April 11 on rehab assignment. Resumed assignment with Triple-A Durham on April 24. Has been playing regularly and is nearing the end of his 20-day rehab window. (Last updated May 11)
LHP Steven Matz
Injury: Left elbow inflammation
IL date: May 5 (15-day IL, retroactive to May 4)
Expected return: Possibly late May
Status: Felt soreness in the sixth inning of his May 3 start, then underwent an MRI on May 4 that revealed inflammation. Imaging showed no structural issues, so he should resume throwing after a brief period of rest. (Last updated May 5) More >>
RHP Michael Grove
Injury: Right labrum surgery recovery
IL date: April 14 (15-day IL; transferred to 60-day IL on April 20)
Expected return: Possibly June
Status: Signed to a Major League contract on April 14 and immediately placed on the IL. Scheduled to face hitters for the first time the weekend of May 8-10, with a rehab assignment to follow. (Last updated May 5)
RHP Joe Boyle
Injury: Right elbow strain
IL date: April 11 (15-day IL, retroactive to April 10)
Expected return: Possibly late May
Status: Imaging revealed no structural damage. Faced hitters in live BP April 30, threw a bullpen session May 3 and departed for Triple-A Durham to begin a rehab assignment. Will need time to get built up as a starter. (Last updated May 4) More >>

Injury: Lumbar disk inflammation

Expected return: Before All-Star break
Status: Did not pitch all spring while dealing with a back issue that required an injection. Also underwent an appendectomy. Will need time to build up after being shut down so long. (Last updated May 3)
RHP Ryan Pepiot
Injury: Right hip inflammation
IL date: March 25 (retroactive to March 22; transferred to 60-day IL on April 14)
Expected return: Spring Training 2027
Status: Set for season-ending surgery on May 13. Said multiple exams revealed "normal" wear and tear on labrum and femoroacetabular impingement, which limited his leg's range of motion. Injury: Sprained left ankle
IL date: April 24 (Minor League 7-day IL, retroactive to April 23)
Expected return: Late May to mid-June

Injury: Right shoulder impingement, subscapularis strain
IL date: March 25 (retroactive to March 22; transferred to 60-day IL on April 24)
Expected return: Possibly June
Status: After rocky rehab outing on April 15, he reported soreness in back of right shoulder. Further evaluation revealed a new injury, a subscapularis strain. Shut down for 2-3 weeks, meaning he's likely 4-6 weeks from returning. (Last updated April 24) More >>

Injury: Right flexor strain, elbow surgery
IL date: Feb. 10 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Midseason 2026
