Major League Baseball and the Rays Play Ball Weekend celebrates the games of baseball and softball through a day of instruction and fun activities, encouraging kids to play ball.

The Rays will celebrate Play Ball Weekend at Tropicana Field with a baseball clinic for players and buddies in the local Buddy Baseball league. Rays training staff and coaches from Eckerd College will teach skills, run drills and coach a friendly game for boys and girls ages 8 and up, before serving lunch to attendees. Buddy Baseball is a non-competitive recreational league serving the Tampa Bay community for boys and girls ages 8 to 21 with special needs.
