The Detroit Tigers organization, its owners, management, players and coaches are committed to providing a caring, enduring presence in the Greater Detroit community and believe in the need to invest in our community's future.
The Detroit Tigers Foundation is the official charity of the Detroit Tigers baseball club and is an affiliate of Ilitch Charities, a 501(c)(3) public charity. The mission of the Foundation is to enhance lives through the game of baseball with a focus on youth, education and recreation. From ticket donations and field renovation projects to an award winning, State-wide anti-bullying program, the Foundation aids in the development and funding of innovative programs that reach Tigers fans with positive messages and promote the good citizenship embodied in the storied history of the Detroit Tigers.
Make a Donation
Since its inception in 2005, the Detroit Tigers Foundation has awarded over $19 million in grants, Tigers tickets and college scholarships throughout the State of Michigan, northern Ohio and southern Ontario, Canada. Youth baseball programs funded by the Foundation include Tiny Tigers, an annual t-ball and junior baseball program for over 600 children and the annual Detroit Tigers Hometown Championship, a year-end t-ball, softball and baseball tournament for over 1,000 youth. This is all made possible through the generosity of the Tigers organization, its fans, players and partners. Support the Foundation's mission today, with a tax deductible on-line donation!
Autographs for a Cause
In an effort to support the greater Detroit community, Tigers players partner with the Detroit Tigers Foundation in a program called Autographs for a Cause. Through this program, players sign baseball cards in exchange for a donation to the Detroit Tigers Foundation, the club's official charity. Tigers players match donations made, and funds raised are donated to charitable organizations to support causes identified by the players. Fans should keep in mind there is some risk involved in putting an item in the mail. Although reasonable precautions will be taken, the Detroit Tigers organization, its players, staff and Foundation are not responsible if an item is lost or damaged.
