What’s Happening This Week: Phillies vs. Rangers, May 21-23

East Lansdown police officer Rob Meehan to be honored as a Rothman Hometown Hero, ceremonial first pitches by comedian Shane Gillis and former Phillie Domonic Brown, and 10,000 students to attend Citizens Weather Education Day presented by the First Alert Weather!

The Phillies will close out the homestand with a three-game series against the Texas Rangers from Tuesday, May 21, to Thursday, May 23, at Citizens Bank Park. Here’s a look at some of the fan highlights surrounding the games:

1. On Tuesday, May 21, the Phillies will celebrate Greek Heritage Night during the 6:40 p.m. game.

  • Fans can enjoy a pregame performance by the Zephyros Dance Group in the Third Base Plaza. Plus, Nicholas Chimicles, Vice Chairman from the American Hellenic Institute, will throw a ceremonial first pitch.
  • East Lansdowne police officer Rob Meehan, who was injured in the line of duty in February 2024, will have the honor of changing a base in the third inning as that night’s Rothman Hometown Hero.

2. The series continues on Wednesday, May 22, and will feature comedian Shane Gillis, who will throw a ceremonial first pitch before that night’s 6:40 p.m. game.

  • Local teams will be taking over the ballpark as part of that night’s Youth Baseball and Softball Celebration! Teams are encouraged to wear their uniforms for the chance to potentially be shown on PhanaVision during the game.
  • Plus, take photos with the world-renowned Budweiser Clydesdales on Citizens Bank Way.

3. Over 10,000 students and teachers will come to the ballpark for the 10th annual Citizens Weather Education Day presented by the First Alert Weather Team at NBC10 and Telemundo62 on Thursday, May 23, at the 1:05 p.m. Citizens Businessperson’s Special game*.*

  • Fans can be a meteorologist at the NBC10 Green Screen outside the First Base Plaza elevator lobby.
  • Plus, former outfielder Domonic Brown will throw a ceremonial first pitch in honor of the 20th Anniversary of Citizens Bank Park Celebration.
  • Be on the lookout for the NBC10 Storm Ranger vehicle, on display outside the Third Base Gate.
  • Fans can head over to the Phillies Thursday Post-Game Party at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, where 1993 National League champion and World Series champion hitting coach Milt Thompson will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans for an hour after the completion of the game. Admission to this event is free.

4. For this series only, Ioannoni’s Specialty Sandwiches in New Castle, Del. will be offering its Guiliana sandwich at Coca-Cola Corner near the Left Field Plaza.

  • Features the Giuliana sandwich with chicken cutlet, broccoli rabe, sharp provolone and spicy sauce available for $15.99, or $22.98 paired with a Coke Zero Sugar. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Philabundance to help fight food insecurity.

5. Hot off the press! The commemorative 2024 Philadelphia Phillies Yearbook, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Citizens Bank Park, is now available at the New Era Phillies Team Store and at publication stands for $10 each.

  • Go-Ahead Entry: Enroll on the MLB Ballpark app for a free-flow ballpark entry experience that allows ticket holders the ability to enter the ballpark at full walking speed without stopping. Go-Ahead Entry lanes are located at the First Base, Third Base and Left Field Gates.
  • Gate Openings: 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday; 11:35 a.m. on Thursday.
  • Access Tickets & More: Use the free MLB Ballpark app for your guide to Citizens Bank Park and to access tickets (including sports complex parking), forward tickets to friends, use the interactive concourse maps, enroll in Go-Ahead Entry and enjoy games.
  • Broadcast: Tuesday and Wednesday’s games will be broadcast on NBSCP. Thursday’s game will be on NBC10. All games will be broadcast on 94 WIP and WTTM 1680, as well as available on nbcsportsphiladelphia.com and the NBC Sports app. Wednesday’s game will also be available on MLB Network (out-of-market only).
  • Mobile Ordering: Includes Manco & Manco @ Foundry Pizza, Miller Lite Liberty Landing, Pass and Stow and Shake Shack. Order your favorite menu items and skip the line when ordering through the MLB Ballpark App.
  • Bag Policy: In an effort to expedite entry, guests are prohibited from bringing non-clear bags, including backpacks and drawstring bags, into the ballpark. Only clutch purses and/or fanny packs (no larger than 5" x 7"), clear bags (no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"), medical bags and diaper bags will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park. All bags will be subject to inspection upon entry in accordance with Major League Baseball security regulations.
  • Uber RideShare Lot: Lot T is designated for Uber RideShare for all Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center events. Fans should exit the Third Base Gate and walk along Pattison Avenue toward Broad Street to enter the lot and request a vehicle, which will meet each rider in the designated area.
  • Parking: Please click here for a parking map. Parking for Phillies games is cashless. Methods of payment include credit/debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay). To expedite entry, pre-paid parking passes may also be purchased prior to the game.
