CJ Abrams and Josiah Gray, Nationals

Abrams was scratched from the Nationals' lineup about an hour before first pitch on Saturday. While a reason wasn’t given for the absence, Abrams landed awkwardly Friday night while attempting to field a ground ball, which could have contributed to the absence.

Gray (flexor strain) threw a 76-pitch live bullpen session prior to a game against the Braves on Thursday. A day later, manager Dave Martinez said that Gray will likely throw one more live bullpen up to 50 pitches and then be reassessed. More >

Michael Wacha and Brady Singer, Royals

Wacha was hit in the middle of his left foot by a comebacker during the first inning of Friday's 11-8 loss to the Padres. He was able to continue pitching without much pain, but he was wearing a boot postgame and underwent scans on his foot to determine the extent of the damage.

Singer was scratched from his scheduled Thursday start against the Twins due to an illness. More >

Both Means and Wells will require UCL surgery and are expected to miss the remainder of the season, per general manager Mike Elias. It is unclear whether either pitcher will need to undergo Tommy John surgery. More >

Jordan Romano and Alek Manoah, Blue Jays

Romano was placed on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation on Saturday. An MRI exam showed no structural damage. More >

Manoah was placed on the 15-day IL with a right UCL sprain on Friday. Per manager John Schneider, the team does not yet know the degree of the injury and Manoah will seek a second opinion in the coming days. More >

Cole (right elbow discomfort) threw 43 pitches over three innings of live batting practice on Thursday at the Yankees' complex in Tampa, Fla., marking his third session against hitters.

Berti (left calf strain) underwent a PRP injection on Thursday. He is in a walking boot and has been told to expect a recovery time of approximately six to eight weeks after straining his left calf in last Sunday's game. More >

Kerry Carpenter, Mark Canha and Shelby Miller, Tigers

On Friday, the Tigers updated the status of Carpenter’s injury from lumbar spine inflammation to lumbar spine stress fracture. On Saturday, manager A.J. Hinch explained that due to variables with this injury, there was no clear sign of when the outfielder might return.

Canha was a late scratch from the Tigers' lineup on Friday night. On Saturday, the outfielder revealed that test results showed a psoas muscle strain in his lower back. As his condition worsened over the week, the outfielder feared a hip flexor, but with this diagnosis, there is no IL stint necessary at this time.

Rehabbing from right ulnar nerve inflammation, Miller made his second appearance with Triple-A Toledo on Friday night. The right-hander came on in the sixth inning and allowed just one hit in 1 1/3 innings of work. Miller also struck out two of the five batters he faced. More >

Cabrera, who is rehabbing from a right shoulder impingement in Jupiter, Fla., is asymptomatic while throwing and continues to build up in his program. More >

Josh Jung, Rangers

After a brief visit in Arizona with specialist Donald Sheridan, Jung (right wrist fracture) was cleared to begin swinging off a tee with a lighter bat. More >

Lars Nootbaar, Cardinals

Nootbaar was placed on the 10-day IL Friday with a left oblique strain. More >

Cristian Javier, José Urquidy and Luis Garcia, Astros

Javier and Urquidy, each dealing with right forearm discomfort, are "both waiting to hear from the doctors" on second opinions regarding their injuries, manager Joe Espada said on Friday.

Garcia (Tommy John surgery) said he felt "great" after throwing a 20-pitch live batting practice session at Minute Maid Park on Friday. He will travel to the club's Spring Training complex in West Palm Beach, Fla., and throw two or three more live BP sessions before potentially going out on a Minor League rehab assignment. More >

Josh Lowe, Colin Poche, Jeffrey Springs and Zach Eflin, Rays

Lowe (right oblique strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Friday. If all goes well, he is expected to rejoin the Rays on Tuesday.

Poche (mid-back tightness) felt good after throwing a 15-pitch bullpen session on May 22, and he is scheduled to join Triple-A Durham for a Minor League rehab stint on Sunday.

Eflin (lower back inflammation) threw 46 pitches off the mound ahead of the Rays' Thursday afternoon game against the A's. Manager Kevin Cash said that the next step will be a "ramped-up bullpen session" on Sunday, after which his status will be re-evaluated. More >

Andrew Vaughn and Luis Robert Jr., White Sox

Vaughn (left ring finger sprain) remained out of the lineup Saturday. He suffered his injury sliding into third during advancement on a wild pitch against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
