Giancarlo Stanton is back, and so are his ridiculous, flick-of-the-wrist homers crushed to the moon

Well, it's official: Giancarlo Stanton is back, and the Yankees offense just hit another level of impossible.

If you'd forgotten what his home run swing looked like, here it is in all its majesty:

That blast came in Monday night's game against the Blue Jays in the Bronx, and really put on display the ridiculous things Stanton can do with a bat. It'd been a while since he homered -- this was his first dinger of 2019, after a significant stint on the injured list.

But this shot, which turned a 7-2 Yankees lead into a 10-2 lead just like that, was vintage Stanton. It almost looks like he hit this on the end of his bat, and yet it soared out into the night sky an estimated 445 feet from home plate.

Stanton's three-run shot came an inning after Aaron Hicks put the Yankees in the record books with a homer of his own -- marking the team's 27th consecutive game with at least one homer, tying the 2002 Rangers in that statistic.

They're hitting a lot of homers this season, and recently adding Aaron Judge, Stanton and AL home run leader Edwin Encarnacion is just completely unfair. And while it took Stanton a week or so to get going with the bat after his return, this homer on Monday night makes no bones about it: The man is back and is ready to assume his role as yet another oh-my-god-how-can-I-possibly-pitch-to-this-guy presence in the Yankees lineup.

Good luck, everybody else.
