May 2: RHP Kyle Bradish reinstated from IL; RHP Yohan Ramírez designated for assignment
After three Minor League rehab starts, Bradish was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and started Thursday's series finale against the Yankees. Bradish began the season on the injured list due to a right UCL sprain he sustained in January at the start of his offseason throwing program. He underwent imaging and received a platelet-rich plasma injection, then restarted his progression on Feb. 16.

Bradish made his first rehab start on April 16, tossing three scoreless innings for Double-A Bowie vs. Altoona. He then made a pair of starts for Triple-A Norfolk, allowing four runs in 3 1/3 innings at Jacksonville on April 21 and one run in five innings vs. Gwinnett on April 26.

To make room on the roster, the Orioles DFA'd Ramírez, who recorded a 6.00 ERA in five relief outings for the team.

May 1: RHP Grayson Rodriguez (right shoulder inflammation) placed on 15-day injured list; LHP John Means reinstated from 15-day IL
The Orioles opted to place Rodriguez on the IL as a precautionary move after the 24-year-old right-hander experienced right shoulder soreness when he woke up Tuesday morning. He threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings in a win over the Yankees the previous night at Camden Yards.

Means was activated because his 30-day rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk had ended, but the 31-year-old left-hander isn't expected to make his season debut until this weekend, when he should make a start during Baltimore's three-game series at Cincinnati.

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST

OF Austin Hays (left calf strain)
Expected return: Mid-May
Hays took batting practice and ran the bases on the field at Camden Yards on May 2. The 27-year-old outfielder could begin a Minor League rehab assignment "pretty soon," per manager Brandon Hyde.

Hays exited an April 20 game at Kansas City due to tightness in his left calf. He was out of Baltimore's lineup the next day, then was placed on the 10-day IL on April 22 (retroactive to April 21). At the time, Hyde was optimistic that Hays would be ready to return around the time he was eligible. Hays had a tough start to the season, posting a .311 OPS in 19 games. (Last updated: May 2)

RHP Tyler Wells (right elbow inflammation)
Expected return: TBD
Wells didn't bounce back from his April 6 start at Pittsburgh the way he had hoped and said he felt discomfort during his April 12 outing vs. Milwaukee. The 29-year-old right-hander was placed on the IL on April 16 for "precautionary reasons," per manager Brandon Hyde, who was optimistic that Wells won't miss an extended period of time due to the inflammation in his right elbow.

On May 1, Wells played catch and was continuing to undergo testing. There is still no clear timetable for his return to Baltimore's pitching staff. (Last updated: May 2)

RHP Grayson Rodriguez (right shoulder inflammation)
Expected return: TBD
Rodriguez was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 1 (retroactive to April 30) after he experienced soreness in his right shoulder the morning after his April 29 start vs. the Yankees. Manager Brandon Hyde said the 24-year-old right-hander was still undergoing testing the day he went on the IL, so there's no clear timetable for his return.

Through six starts, Rodriguez had a 3.71 ERA and a team-high 37 strikeouts over 34 innings. He went at least 5 2/3 innings and allowed two or fewer runs in five of those outings. (Last updated: May 1) More >>

60-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP Félix Bautista (Tommy John surgery)
Expected return: Spring Training 2025
Bautista, who had Tommy John surgery last October, underwent right elbow debridement and an ulnar nerve transposition on Feb. 9 in Dallas. Dr. Keith Meister performed both the Tommy John surgery and the additional procedures.

The secondary procedures (both common after Tommy John surgery) cleaned up scar tissue in Bautista’s right elbow and moved the nerve to free it up from compression. His reconstructed right UCL continues to heal well, and his recovery timeline won’t be affected. The Orioles still expect the All-Star closer -- who was placed on the 60-day injured list on Feb. 14 -- to begin throwing in April and to return for the start of the 2025 season.

Bautista was with the Orioles for Opening Day on March 28, but he left on March 30 for Sarasota, Fla., to continue his rehab at the team's complex. (Last updated: March 30)
