Missed a majority of the season after undergoing a successful right elbow ulnar collateral ligament repair with internal brace on 5/30...The procedure was performed by Dr. Jeffrey Dugas at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopedics Center in Birmingham, Ala. Allowed two runs or fewer in each of his four starts, including one or no runs in three of them (1.96 ERA, 18.1 IP, 1 HR). In six Spring Training starts, was 3-0 with a 2.49 ERA, 22 SO, 3 BB and a .193 opponent AVG (21.2 IP, 6 ER, 16 H). Made his third Opening Day roster (also 2021-22 BOS). Earned the win in the Sox’ fourth game of the season on 3/31 at SEA (5.0 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 0 BB , 8 SO). Exited the game on 4/16 vs. CLE after the fourth inning with left oblique tightness. Was placed on the 15-Day Injured List on 4/17 with a left oblique strain...Made one rehab start with Triple-A Worcester on 5/15 (4.2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, BB , 5 SO). Was transferred to the 60-Day IL on 6/2.

Underwent a successful right hip arthroscopy on 9/26, performed by Dr. Bryan Kelly at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

Underwent Tommy John surgery in July 2019, missing the remainder of that season and all of 2020...Has reached as high as the Double-A level, most recently in 2019 when he spent the entire season with Trenton and posted a 3.07 ERA (24 ER/70.1 IP) in 14 starts.
