Toby Joseph Rumfield … son of Toby and Kari … his dad coached him in high school and is currently the head coach at Denton High School (Texas) … also, spent 14 years playing professional baseball in the Braves, White Sox, Marlins and Cardinals organizations...Played at Virginia Tech (2021) and Texas Tech (2019-20)...Graduate of Temple H.S. (Texas), where he played both baseball and football (quarterback).

Combined with Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to bat .294 (132-for-449) with 77 runs, 27 doubles, 15 HR, 73 RBI, 49 BB and four SB in 122 games...Among qualified Yankees farmhands, led the organization in hits, was tied for second in runs scored, ranked third in RBI and total bases (204), tied for fifth in doubles, sixth in BA, tied for sixth in extra-base hits (42), tied for eighth in home runs and ninth in SLG...Attended Spring Training with the Yankees as a non-roster invitee...Began the season with Somerset, hitting .321/.441/.357 (9-for-28) with five runs, one double, two RBI, six BB and one SB in eight games...Was promoted to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on 4/16 and spent the remainder of the season with the RailRiders, batting .292/.365/.461 (123-for-421) with 72 runs, 26 doubles, 15 HR, 71 RBI, 43 BB and three SB in 114 games...Ranked ninth among qualified International League batters in BA...Following the season, played for Toros del Este in the Dominican Winter League, batting .148 (8-for-54) with two runs, one HR and four RBI in 17 games.

Batted .222/.320/.437 (69-for-311) with 45R, 16 doubles, 17HR, 58RBI, 40BB and 8SB in 86 combined games with High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset…spent the majority of the season with Somerset, hitting .219 (65-for-297) with 43R, 14 doubles, 17HR, 55RBI, 39BB and 8SB in 82 games…played in four rehab games with Hudson Valley…following the season, was named the 2023 MiLB recipient of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award at first base.

2022

Combined with High-A Hudson Valley, Single-A Tampa and the FCL Yankees to bat .273 (57-for-209) with 27R, 13 doubles, 4HR, 35RBI, 29BB/1IBB and 4SB…recorded a career-high 5H on 4/12 at Rome, going 5-for-5 with 2R, one double, 1HR, 4RBI and 1SB…batted .329/.433/.447 (25-for-76) withsix doubles, 1HR, 10RBI, 11BB over his final 20 games of the season with Hudson Valley…following the season, played with the Mesa Solar Sox of the Arizona Fall League, batting .400/.477/.582 (22-for-55) with 14R, seven doubles, 1HR, 10RBI and 9BB in 17 games…was named an AFL Fall Star… was named to the All-AFL Team.

2021

Made his professional debut with Low-A Clearwater in the Phillies organization, hitting .250 (19-for-76) with 13R, one double, 7RBI and 21BB in 27 games.
