It was established by Pam and Phil Martin in honor of their son, Chris, who died by suicide in 2017.
The Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of violence and abuse, particularly domestic violence, and helping children and families who have been impacted by it. It was founded in 2002 by baseball Hall of Famer Joe Torre and his wife, Ali.
For more than 50 years, the foundation has continued Robinson's commitment to equal opportunity by addressing the achievement gap in higher education.
