The Marlins placed left-hander Robby Snelling on the 15-day injured list with a left elbow UCL sprain on Wednesday. Snelling, Miami's No. 2 prospect and the No. 29 prospect in baseball, just made his Major League debut on May 5, allowing three runs over five innings against Washington.
Miami did get some good news on Wednesday, as they activated closer Pete Fairbanks from the IL after he missed over two weeks with nerve irritation.
Snelling had been scheduled to make his second big league start in Thursday's series finale against the Twins at Target Field.
