PHILADELPHIA -- One way or another, the World Series will wrap up this week, which means free agency, trades and awards season. Here’s a look at key dates for MLB’s top awards (all times ET):
Sunday (8:30 p.m., ESPN): Rawlings Gold Glove Awards
Phillies manager Don Mattingly said a couple weeks ago that he wants his team to play better defense in 2027. The Phils tied for 21st in MLB with -17 outs above average this year. The club doesn’t have any Gold Glove Award finalists this season. The Phillies haven’t had a Gold Glove Award winner since pitcher Zack Wheeler in 2023, and the club hasn’t had a position player win since J.T. Realmuto in 2022.
Monday: Louisville Slugger announces Silver Slugger Award finalists
Monday (6 p.m., MLB Network): BBWAA Awards finalists announced
This includes AL/NL finalists for Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, Cy Young Award, Reliever of the Year and Most Valuable Player.

Nov. 9 (7 p.m., MLB Network): BBWAA Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Awards
No Phillies player has won NL Rookie of the Year since Ryan Howard in 2005.
Andrew Painter was the Phils’ best rookie this year. He went 3-10 with a 5.40 ERA and 1.3 bWAR, which ranked ninth among NL rookie pitchers. But Painter went 2-2 with a 3.65 ERA in his final 11 starts (61 2/3 IP), not including a stellar performance out of the bullpen in the NL Wild Card Series. It has the Phillies excited about the future.
Nov. 10 (MLB Network, 7 p.m.): BBWAA Manager of the Year Awards
Mattingly should get a few votes. He might even be a finalist. The Phillies were 9-19 on April 28, when Mattingly replaced Rob Thomson. They had the fourth-best record in baseball the rest of the way.
But Milwaukee’s Pat Murphy is the favorite to win a third consecutive Manager of the Year Award.
Nov. 11 (7 p.m., MLB Network): BBWAA Cy Young Awards and Reliever of the Year Awards
Don’t expect Cristopher Sánchez or Jesús Luzardo to beat Milwaukee ace Jacob Misiorowski for the NL Cy Young Award, but they could finish in the top four. Phillies closer Jhoan Duran has a solid case for winning the first NL Reliever of the Year Award. He went 2-6 with a 1.82 ERA, 33 saves and 3.4 bWAR, but San Diego closer Mason Miller could edge him.
Nov. 11 (9 p.m., MLB Network): MLB Awards from The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas
Awards will include the Hank Aaron Award, the Comeback Player of the Year Awards, the Mariano Rivera and Trevor Hoffman Reliever of the Year Awards, the Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter of the Year, the selections for the All-MLB First and Second Teams and the MLB Executive of the Year Award.
Nov. 12 (7 p.m., MLB Network): BBWAA Most Valuable Player Awards
More than a couple Phillies should receive votes. Who and how many will be interesting to see. Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber could get votes as position players. Some voters like to put pitchers on their ballots, which means Sánchez and Luzardo could finish somewhere.
Nov. 17: Silver Slugger Awards
HOT STOVE SEASON
First day after the end of the World Series: Eligible players become free agents
Please, stop the insanity, and don’t make a big deal when one of those aggregating baseball “news” accounts on social media posts about a player “electing” free agency. All eligible players automatically become free agents after the World Series. It’s not a big deal.
Seven Phillies will become free agents after the World Series: José Alvarado, Nestor Cortes, Adolis García, Brooks Raley, Luis Arraez, Alec Bohm and Edmundo Sosa.

Fifth day after the end of the World Series (5 p.m.): “Quiet period” ends
Free agents can negotiate and sign with any club. This is the last day for the Phillies to make a qualifying offer to eligible free agents.
It’s unlikely the Phillies will make a one-year, $23.15 million qualifying offer to any of their free agents, although they might at least chat about offering one to Bohm. After all, if Bohm and Arraez aren’t re-signed, the Phillies will have at least one hole to fill in the infield. And if Trea Turner struggles at shortstop, the number jumps to two.
Nov. 10-12: General Managers Meetings in Las Vegas
Nov. 17 (4 p.m.): Deadline for players to accept a qualifying offer
Nov. 20: Tender deadline
The Phillies have until this date to decide whether they will tender contracts to their nine arbitration-eligible players: Bryson Stott, Brandon Marsh, Orion Kerkering, Rafael Marchan, Garrett Stubbs, Bryan De La Cruz, Derek Hill, Tanner Banks and Duran.
It’s unclear if Johan Rojas will be granted Super Two status, which also would make him eligible for salary arbitration.
