Robert John Gsellman (Ga-SELL-man)...Graduated from Westchester High School in Los Angeles... Played basketball, in addition to baseball in high school...He tossed a shutout at Dodger Stadium to win the LA High School championship in 2009... Won two California state titles in basketball in 2010 as a junior and 2011 as a senior.

Transitioned back to the starting role for Yokohama... His 23 starts marked the most he’s made in any professional season.

2021

Robert was limited to 17 games (one start) in 2021, missing from June 21-Oct. 2 with a right lat strain... Pitched 2.0-plus innings in eight of his 15 outings and 3.0-or-more three times prior to his injury, including a season-high 3.2 innings on June 2 at Arizona... In the three games in which he tossed 3.0 or more innings, he did not allow a run (9.2 IP)... Posted a 0.63 ERA (1 ER/14.1 IP) in eight day games... Made his lone start of the season in a bullpen game on June 19 at Washington (game two)... Made six minor league rehab appearances between Single-A St. Lucie and Triple-A Syracuse...
