Played three seasons (2015-17) at Vanderbilt… converted to pitcher prior to his junior season after playing first base in 2015-16 … was roommates with Ro Coleman, a product of the White Sox Amateur City Elite program...Transferred to Santa Clara for his senior season (2018), where he went 6-3 with a 3.65 ERA (27 ER/66.2 IP) in 24 games (three starts) … was roommates at Santa Clara with White Sox reliever Steven Wilson...Is a 2013 graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville … was named First Team All-State as a senior … lettered in baseball, basketball and swimming and diving...Enjoys playing the guitar … father, John, swam at Vanderbilt and brother, Jack, swam at the University of Virginia.

2024

Missed the entire season as he continued his recovery from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow... Appeared in one injury rehab game with Class A Fayetteville in the Houston organization (8/15 at Augusta)… Spent Spring Training with Atlanta … was designated for assignment by the Braves on 3/25 and claimed off waivers by the Astros on 3/27.

2023

Made Seattle's Opening Day roster and pitched in 16 games at the Major League level...Logged a 1-2 record and a 1.29 ERA (2 ER/14.0 IP) with 16 strikeouts and 10 walks...Did not allow a run over his first eight appearances of the season, tossing 6.2 IP with two hits, three walks and eight strikeouts...Held opponents to a .095 batting average during this stretch...Pitched final game of the season on June 11, before he was placed on the injured list the following day...Subsequently underwent Tommy John surgery and is expected to miss the 2024 season.

2022

Went 7-3 with a 4.23 ERA (37 ER, 78.2 IP) with 35 walks and 97 strikeouts in 26 games (14 starts) between Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Tacoma...named Texas League Pitcher of the Week on June 20 and named Texas League Pitcher of the Month in June... in 4 June starts, went 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA (4 ER, 26.0 IP) with 7 walks and 30 strikeouts including a 9.0-inning, complete game shutout on June 18 vs. Tulsa.

2020

Did not appear due to the cancellation of the minor league season (COVID-19).

2019

Earned the "60 ft. 6 in. Club" Award after being recognized as the pitcher in the Mariners organization that best embodied the Control the Zone philosophy...spent most of the year with High-A Modesto…also appeared in 5 games with Triple-A Tacoma (4/9-22) and 1 game with Double-A Arkansas (5/19)…combined to go 6-5, 3.57 (45 ER, 113.1 IP) with 136 strikeouts and 31 walks in 32 games (20 GS)…All-Arizona Fall League Team as the league's top starter after posting a 1.23 ERA and striking out 30 in 22.0 innings (MLB Pipeline).
