Full name is LuJames Groover III...Signed by the D-backs as a second-round selection in 2023 out of North Carolina State University...Attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2021...Transferred to NC State and played for the Wolfpack from 2022-23...Was a 2023 Third Team All-ACC honoree.

In 2025, hit .309 (145-for-470)/.833 OPS with 23 doubles, 12 homers, 56 RBI and 63 walks in 123 games with Double-A Amarillo...Named to his first National League roster for the 2025 All-Star Futures Game.

2024

Began the season with High-A Hillsboro and hit .272 (41-for-151)/.817 OPS with seven doubles, seven homers and 25 RBI in 40 games...Placed on the 7-day injured list (fractured left wrist) on April 11 and transferred to the 60-day injured list on April 13... reinstated on July 19...Promoted to Double-A Amarillo on Sept. 1 and hit .340 (17-for-50) with four doubles, three homers and six RBI in 13 games...Hit .338 (22-for-65) with one double, 11 RBI and eight walks in 18 games with the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League.

2023

Began the season with Rookie-level ACL D-backs...Promoted to High-A Hillsboro after just four games on Aug. 10, where he hit .264 (23-for-87)/.340 OBP with five doubles, one triple, one homer and 14 RBI in 23 games.
