Has a daughter, Sadie...Was a 2000 graduate of Scripps Ranch (CA) High School, where he played baseball and football...Named to the 2000 ABCA/Rawlings High School All-America 3rd Team...Prior to signing with the Diamondbacks as a 4th-round selection in the 2000 First-Year Player Draft, had committed to play wide receiver for Division II Truman State (MO).
2011
Hit 11 home runs in 82 games for Florida's Triple-A affiliate in New Orleans before a season-ending stint on the disabled list...Was a non-roster invitee to Florida's Major League Spring Training camp...Went on the DL on 7/5 with a right knee sprain and underwent ACL surgery...Did not return to action...At that time, was leading the Zephyrs with 56 RBI...Reached safely in 24 consecutive home games from 5/1-6/12...Scored a season-high 5 runs on 6/2 at Omaha, the most by a New Orleans players since the 2007 season...Split time between the outfield (54 games) and 1st base (30).
2010
Spent the entire season with triple-A Charlotte in the Chicago White Sox organization, batting .204 with 22 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs and 54 RBI in 119 games ... Started the season by collecting at least one hit in his first 15 games, including a season-best 11- game hit streak from April 12-22. He hit .324 (13x40) over the streak with two doubles, one triple, two home runs and eight RBI ... On July 27 at Louisville, connected for his 15th and final home run of the season, a fourth-inning grand slam ... Appeared at all three outfield positions, as well as first base and designated hitter ... Following the season, appeared in 41 games with Leones del Caracas in the Venezuelan Winter League, batting .341 (55x149) with 13 doubles, four triples, eight home runs and 36 RBI.
2009
Spent the season at Class AAA Charlotte, hitting .267 (134-501) with 27 doubles, 17 home runs and 56 RBI in 128 games...went to spring training with the White Sox as a non-roster invitee...led the Knights with 23 stolen bases...made 110 appearances in the outfield and two at first base...was a member of the gold-medal-winning Team USA in the IBAF Baseball World Cup team in Italy...hit .289 (46-159) with 12 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 23 RBI in 43 games with Caracas of the Venezuelan Winter League.
2008
Spent the entire season with Class-AA Iowa in the Cubs organization, batting .307 (132-430) with 38 doubles, 15 home runs and 69 RBI in 123 games...ranked fourth in the Pacific Coast League in doubles...was a non-roster invitee to spring training with the Cub...was signed by the White Sox as a free agent on 12/22 (acquisition recommended by Bill Young)...played with Leones of the Venezuelan Winter League, hitting .299 (56-187) with 10 home runs and 43 RBI.
2007
Combined to hit .330 (132-400) with a career-best 21 home runs and 81 RBI in 117 games with Class AA Tennessee and Class AA Iowa in the Cubs organization...signed by the Cubs as a free agent on 2/12...began the season with Tennessee and hit .382 (86-225) with 50 RBI in 66 games...was named to the Southern League midseason All-Star Team, but did not participate...was leading the SL in hitting at the time of his promotion on 6/20...was on the disabled list with a strained right ribcage from 7/31-8/17.
2006
Hit .231 (102-441) in 119 games with Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, his first season in the Philadelphia organization...was claimed by the Phillies off waivers from Arizona on 1/6...was on the disabled list from 6/7-16 with a strained left hamstring...appeared in 38 games in the Venezuelan Winter League.

Spent the entire year at Triple-A Tucson. ... Set career-high in stolen bases with 17.

Josh hit his way through the top tiers of the farm system en route to a September call-up to the big league squad...starting the season at El Paso (AA), he jumpstarted his season with 3 triples and 2 RBI in his first game of the year...from April 21-May 17 he hit safely in 20 of 24 contests at a .375 clip (33-for-88) with 24 runs, 5 home runs, 19 RBI and 12 multi-hit affairs...he had a season-high 4 RBI on May 30 against Round Rock...that contest gave life to a season-best 11-game hitting streak through June 11 during which he batted .523 (23-for-44) with 15 RBI and 8 multi-hit outings...he went 4-for-4 with a season-high tying 3 doubles on June 1 against Round Rock...Josh was recognized as the Texas League Player-of-the- Week for May 31-June 6...all told, he hit safely in 28 of 35 games at El Paso's Cohen Stadium at a .385 clip (52-for-135) with 21 doubles, 3 triples, 5 homers and 31 RBI...he clubbed a 2-run homer as a starting outfielder for the West Division at the Texas League All-Star Game on June 21 and the next day was promoted to Tucson (AAA)...he hit safely in 7 of his first 9 games at a .323 clip (10-for-31) for the Sidewinders...Josh matched his season-high with 4 hits on August 6 against Nashville, then again on August 22 vs. Edmonton, which also included his lone 2-homer game of the year...he posted a .390 average (39-for-100) in 28 games in August leading up to his first trip to the Major Leagues...recalled on September 2, just 2 days after his 22nd birthday, he made his debut that night as the starting leftfielder against the Dodgers, going 1-for-4 as his first big league hit was a ninth-inning single off of Scott Stewart...Josh scuffled through a 1-for-20 stretch over his next 7 games...he picked up his first Major League RBI on a groundout in the fourth inning on September 25 at San Diego.
2003
Josh opened the season with Lancaster (A) but an outstanding offensive effort led to a mid-year promotion to El Paso (AA)...his 39 doubles on the season were tops among all Arizona farmhands and tied for 11th among all minor leaguers...he hit safely in 56 of 78 games while with the JetHawks, including 33 multi-hit affairs highlighted by a pair of 4-hit games...he batted .390 (55-for-141) in 36 home games and .299 (49-for-164) in 42 road contests...Josh recorded a .365 average (38- for-104) against lefties and a .328 clip (66-for-201) vs. righthanders...he was 50-for-157 (.318) with the bases empty and with runners on base hit .365 (54-for-148), including a .385 clip (35-for-91) with runners in scoring position...he sizzled from the outset batting .390 (34-for-92) in 24 games in April...Josh hit safely in 7 straight games from April 18-25 at a .393 clip (11-for-28)...he had his second career 2-homer game and established a career-best with 5 RBI on April 29 vs. High Desert...he matched his career-high with 4 hits on May 6 against Lake Elsinore...after batting .291 (32-for-110) in 29 games in May, he compiled a .369 average (38-for-103) in June (25 games)...he reached base safely in all 6 plate appearances on June 10 vs. Inland Empire, going 4-for-4 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored...named to the California-Carolina League All-Star Game, Kroeger was 1-for-4 with a double as the starting rightfielder...he was promoted to El Paso on July 1 and hit .326 (15-for-46) in his first 11 games...after enduring a 2-for-26 slide (.077) spanning 8 games from July 13-20, he recovered to hit safely in 18 of 22 games from July 21-August 17 at a .330 clip (29-for-88)...following the season he played for the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League, hitting .253 with a home run and 11 RBI in 22 games.

Played 2nd straight season with High-A Lancaster. Hit safely in 18 of his 1st 20 games, including a season-high, 11-game hit streak from 4/14-25...Registered his 1st professional multi-homer effort on 4/28 at Lakeland.
