Kent Jeffrey Emanuel … 2010 graduate of Woodstock High School (GA), where he was All-County, All-Region and All-State as a senior…Also played basketball in high school…Attended University of North Carolina, where he went 28-8 with a 2.34 ERA (87 ER, 334.1 IP) in 54 career games (47 starts) in three years…His 28 wins set a school record over a pitcher’s first three seasons…As a junior, became the third Tar Heel in school history to win ACC Pitcher of the Year honors, joining Alex White (2008) and Andrew Miller (2006)…Was a Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award finalist…Signed by: Tim Bittner.

2023

Was signed by Pittsburgh as a Minor League free agent on Feb. 10 and spent the entire season with Triple-A Indianapolis. He made one rehab assignment pitching appearance at Double-A Bradenton. Went 7-5 with a 6.19 ERA (58 ER/84.1 IP) in 20 games (13 starts) with Triple-A Indianapolis. Compiled a 3-0 record with a 4.85 ERA (16 ER/29.2 IP) in six starts from June 21 to July 21.

2021

Began season at HOU’s alternate training site and was recalled on 4/23...Made his ML debut on 4/24 vs LAA, entering with one out in the first inning and throwing 8.2 innings with two runs allowed to finish the game and earn his first win...On 5/26, was placed on the IL with left elbow soreness and missed the remainder of the season after undergoing elbow surgery.

2020

Missed the 2020 season due to an 80-game suspension for a violation of MLB's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program...Pitched in the Dominican Winter League following the 2020 season, posting a 1-0 record with a 1.46 ERA (2ER/12.1IP), one walk and 16 strikeouts in seven relief appearances for Licey.

2019

Spent the entire 2019 season at Triple A Round Rock in what was one of the his best professional seasons...posted an 8-2 record with a 3.90 ERA (44ER/101.2IP) with 81 strikeouts...recorded a .254 opponent batting average, which was the lowest of his career..he also posted a career-low WHIP (1.19) allowing 98 hits in 28 games including seven starts...ranked second in inning pitched, tied for second in WHIP and third in games played among Round Rock pitchers...was named Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for the week of Sept. 2, after tossing 8.0 innings of one-hit baseball.

2018

Pitched the entire year at Triple A Fresno and set a career-best mark in strikeouts per 9.0 innings, posting a 9.25 mark (86SO/83.2IP) ...had never eclipsed a strikeout per 9.0 innings ratio above 8.0 in his career prior to 2018...pitched to a 5-4 record and a 5.59 ERA (52ER/83.2IP) with the Grizzlies.
