The Phillies have signed outfielder Jordan Luplow to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training as a non-roster invitee.

Phillies President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement.

Luplow, 30, has played in 362 major league games over parts of seven seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates (2017-18), Cleveland Guardians (2019-21), Tampa Bay Rays (2021), Arizona Diamondbacks (2022), Toronto Blue Jays (2023) and Minnesota Twins (2023). Over 1,060 career plate appearances, the right-handed hitter has slashed .212/.314/.423 with a .737 OPS and 101 wRC+. He has appeared defensively at every position in his major league career except shortstop and catcher.

Among the 303 active major league players with at least 1,000 career plate appearances, Luplow ranks ninth in pitches per plate appearance at 4.26, trailing only Daniel Vogelbach (4.49), Rhys Hoskins (4.40), Trayce Thompson (4.35), Mike Tauchman (4.34), Matt Carpenter (4.29), Max Muncy (4.28), Roberto Perez (4.27) and Patrick Wisdom (4.26).

Prior to being released by Atlanta on March 14, Luplow played in 12 major league spring training games for the Braves and slashed .276/.364/.621 with a .984 OPS and 157 wRC+.

A native of Visalia, Calif., Luplow was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Fresno State (CA).
