Guest Code of Conduct

The Yankees' storied history and tradition are a reflection of not only the manager, players, coaches and front-office staff, but also of Guests visiting Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees want all Guests to be able to enjoy the fun and excitement of Stadium events in a safe and comfortable environment.

Guests will be treated in a consistent, professional and courteous manner by all Yankee Stadium Team Members and the Yankees ask Guests for the same in return.

To help maintain an enjoyable environment, the following guidelines have been established:

  • Consume alcoholic beverages only in a responsible manner.
  • Only sit in the seats for which they have tickets and present their tickets to Team Members upon request.
  • Comply with requests from Team Members.
  • Be courteous to Stadium neighbors when entering and leaving the Stadium.
  • Restrict movement in the seating area during game action and cheer in a manner that does not interfere with fellow Guests’ enjoyment.
  • The Yankees urge Guests to use caution when moving around the stadium and while walking up and down the aisles and through the seating areas. Please do not lean on, reach over, sit on, or stand near railings.
  • There is a limit of two alcoholic beverages per person, per sale at concession stands on the concourses, and one beer per person, per sale from vendors selling in the seating areas. Sale of beer in the seating areas will end two hours after the start of the game or in the middle of the seventh inning, whichever comes first. In other non-Premium locations in Yankee Stadium, sale will end at the conclusion of the seventh inning.
  • Umbrellas are permitted in Yankee Stadium. However, an umbrella may only be used if, when open, it provides protection only to the Guest holding it and does not interfere with other Guests’ enjoyment of the game or event, or compromise other Guests’ ability to view the game or event. Large and/or golf umbrellas are not permitted in the stadium. Guests may be asked to close their umbrella if it is obstructing the view of other Guests.

The following actions are prohibited:

  • Acting in a manner that is unruly, disruptive or illegal
  • Displaying inconsiderate or otherwise inappropriate behavior toward Team Members and/or fellow Guests
  • Using foul/abusive language including betting-related speech and behavior
  • Making obscene gestures
  • Wearing obscene or indecent clothing
  • Interfering with balls in play, entering the playing field, or placing, dropping, tossing or hurling any substance or object onto the playing field or anywhere else in the Stadium*
  • Fighting, taunting or making threatening gestures
  • Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes
  • Damaging or attempting to damage the Stadium and/or its property
  • Possessing or using illegal drugs
  • Obstructing the view of fellow Guests with excessive standing
  • Sitting or standing on seat backs, standing on seats or stepping over or on seats
  • Standing or sitting in the walkways, aisles or ramps
  • Placing cups or other items on walls and ledges
  • Throwing or kicking objects

Additionally, Guests must not throw baseballs back onto the field.

For the safety of every Guest, all persons specifically consent to and are subject to metal detector and physical pat-down inspections prior to entry. Any item or property that could affect the safety of Yankee Stadium, its occupants or its property shall not be permitted into the Stadium. Any person that could affect the safety of the Stadium, its occupants or its properties shall be denied entry.

Guests are responsible for their conduct as well as the conduct of their Guests. The Yankees maintain a zero tolerance policy regarding any Guest who violates the Guest Code of Conduct. All Guests must comply with the Guest Code of Conduct. Any Guest who does not will be subject to ejection without refund and revocation of season tickets and/or future ticket privileges and may also be in violation of New York City ordinances, resulting in possible arrest and prosecution.

The Yankees strive for a championship team on and off the field and thank Guests in advance for complying with the Guest Code of Conduct. Take pride in Yankee Stadium, and enjoy the event.

Ensure the Best Possible Experience for Guests.

Guests are encouraged to report any security or guest relations issue to the nearest Team Member, or Guests can confidentially text the issue by texting SOS NYY to 848-261 (message and data rates may apply), and a Team Member will respond.

  • Please note that Yankee Stadium Team Members are not necessarily employees of the Yankees. All those who work in the Stadium and provide services to Guests are referred to as "Team Members" even though they may not be employed by the Yankees.

* Placing, dropping, tossing or hurling any substance or object onto the playing field with the intent to cause physical injury to a sports participant and/or disrupt the game or sporting event and/or knowingly entering the playing field are crimes each punishable by fine and/or imprisonment as well as a civil penalty of up to $5,000.

Striking, slapping, kicking or otherwise making physical contact with any sports participant with the intent to cause physical injury and/or disrupt the game or sporting event, or any attempt to do so directly or indirectly by means of any substance or object, are crimes each punishable by fine and/or imprisonment as well as a civil penalty of up to $25,000.
