High schooler interviews Jon Lester

Colin, a senior at Bellarmine Prep high school in Tacoma, Wash., interviewed Jon Lester before the Red Sox-Mariners game Wednesday at Safeco Field.

Lester attended the school, where he was named Gatorade State Player of the Year for Washington in 2000.

Colin writes for the school newspaper and was given an opportunity to attended batting practice.

He talked to Lester for about 15 minutes and asked him about his favorite baseball moments, as well as his plans for the future. Lester is the first baseball player Colin has ever met, and despite his admiration for Lester, Colin will always be a Mariners fan.

Colin's story will be published in the first issue of the school paper, which is set to come out later in September.
