Baseball wives Kim DeJesus and Nicky Getz to appear on 'The Amazing Race'

These baseball wives have found an outlet for their competitive drive. Nicky Getz and Kim DeJesus (married to the Royals' Chris and the Rays' David, respectively) will appear in the upcoming season of The Amazing Race.

The Emmy-winning show is basically the World Series of reality television. It's visited 82 countries in its 12 years on the air, challenging contestants both physically and mentally in a race around the globe.

Getz and DeJesus became friends when their husbands played together in Kansas City. For a month this summer, they logged 35,000 miles traveling to exotic locales like Chile and Abu Dhabi. Nicky and Kim competed against 10 other teams -- including two members of the LA Kings Ice Crew and former NFL teammates Ephraim Salaam and Chester Pitts II -- for a $1 million prize.

The results of the race remain a secret. How do the husbands think their wives did?

"We were laughing about it, wondering if they were still in the race," Chris Getz told MLB.com. "And we still are. They can only say so much, so it'll be fun to see it unfold in the fall."
