Pedro Baez spikes pitch directly into the ground
The Dodgers found themselves in a bit of a bind early in Wednesday's game with the D-backs at Chase Field. Starter Ross Stripling was lifted from the game in the second inning and reliever Pedro Baez took over to face Paul Goldschmidt with the bases loaded.
It was a tall order for Baez, but he came through, striking out Goldschmidt (who is now 1-for-21 career against Baez) to strand the runners. Baez's timing of a well-placed fastball was perfect, considering he let loose with this in the bottom of the third:
