Duke Snider spent his offseasons tending to his farm

In 2015, Major Leaguers have spent their offseasons one-upping each other with higher and higher box jumps, and lip syncing classic tunes for young fans. But avocado farm maintenance and care? I'm pretty confident that was a Duke Snider specialty.

While he was leading the league in home runs, earning himself seven straight All-Star appearances and putting together an all-around Hall of Fame career during the 1950s, Snider had his farm in Fallbrook, Calif., to keep him occupied during his winters -- and, once Snider ended his career after the 1964 season, the eternal offseason also known as retirement. As seen in the photo above, that included hopping on a gigantic bulldozer from time to time.

It also means that Snider likely ate a lot of avocados. Maybe that's the secret to doing things like this:
