Watch Colby Rasmus hit (and bat flip) the first home run of the postseason
Rasmus hits (and bat flips) the first HR of October
On Tuesday, Oct. 6 -- in the top of the second inning of the AL Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser -- Astros outfielder Colby Rasmus officially got October underway, taking the first pitch of the frame to very-deep right field:
That's the very first dinger of the 2015 postseason, and Rasmus made sure to mark the occasion appropriately:
That Statcast™-estimated 395 foot home run gave the Astros an early 1-0 lead over the Yankees -- one they extended in the fourth inning with a Carlos Gomez solo shot. And, again, it was celebrated with the style and joie de vivre we've come to expect from Mr. Gomez:
The Astros went on to win, 3-0, and will now advance to the ALDS, where they will face off against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7:37 pm ET on FOX Sports 1.
